rick jerked his head, "you know a way in?"

"the place is secure from walkers, but we could slip our way through," she suggested.

the leader scoffed, "how'd you know how to get here?"

the woman shifted, "they mentioned a prison, said which direction it was in, said that it was a straight shot."

rick gestured to hershel and rosaline, "this is hershel, the father of the girl who was taken. that's rosaline, my older daughter. they'll take care of that wound."

the girl's heart filled with warmth at the way he'd referred to her. she'd finally fit into the family for sure, that was for certain. rick let them deal with it.

"rosaline come, can you clean the wound for me?" the elder man instructed passing her saline and some cotton swabs.

she nodded, starting to carefully work on the woman's wounds. hershel would start to stitch her up, so rosa decided to work around giving the woman a chance to clean herself off as the elder man worked.

the woman seemed very uncomfortable as carl watched them, hand ready to pull out a gun if she tried anything.

she didn't, "thank you, both." she managed to say.

rosaline offered her a gentle smile, "that's okay."

in the background, she was listening to what the group was discussing. daryl was one of the people who offered to go. rosaline pushed herself to her feet, offering herself to also go looking for the pair.

"what about the kid?" daryl asked, jerking his chin toward the newborn. he didn't want her to go - she could risk being hurt.

rosaline looked behind her, "carol, beth, carl, and hershel can manage on their own just fine."

"what if you-" daryl started but rick cut him off.

"you sure you wanna go rosaline?" the man queried.

she ignored daryl, "yeah. i've been here for too long. rhaegar can go too since he can find them through following their scent if it ends up having to be that way. he needs to move around."

rick nodded, "suit yourself, but don't get hurt."

daryl scoffed, not arguing since the decision had already been made; he wasn't happy but he'd have to deal. his problem was that his first concern was rosaline whenever she was out there. he couldn't help that feeling.

the group started to pack away their things into the cars. ammo, guns and whatever was needed in case a fight broke out. daryl placed a bag in the boot of a car with carl, "hey, don't you worry about your old man, or rosa. i'll keep an eye on them both." he pat his back swaggering away.

rosaline followed him grabbing whatever was needed. as she walked out the grated door, the marksman walked up to her, "hmm?" she said.

he gestured to the things, "pass that over, must be heavy."

she grinned passing him the duffel bag, "aren't you nice."

"shut yer mouth," he smirked placing it in the car.

rick took carl for a talk. it was very much needed in fact, the brown-haired girl was anticipating the moment it'd come. that was until her name was called over. she gave daryl's shoulder a squeeze before strolling over to the pair.

rick smiled at her, "we've been thinking about what to call the baby. i thought it'd be fair for you to have an opinion."

rosaline couldn't hold down her smile, "anything other than ass-kicker." she joked, referring to what daryl had been calling the baby.
