Skeppy POV

Skeppy blinked the sleep from his eyes. He wondered why Angel had been checking on him so early in the morning. The last of his dream faded until it felt like any other morning. Skeppy rolled over and found Bad lying there beside him. He was still asleep.

Skeppy thought about the previous night. How he had confessed to Bad. How they had kissed... Skeppy felt his face flush at the thought, but he smiled. He wondered how that day would go after what had happened the previous night. Would it be awkward?

Skeppy then realized that he had fallen asleep in the car on the ride home last night. He carried me inside? Skeppy felt sorry that he had made Bad carry him, so he decided he would make up for it somehow. He quietly rolled out of bed before walking out of the bedroom toward the kitchen.

He took a look at the stuff he had. Not much, but certainly he could find something to make. He put the coffee pot on and got to work on fixing breakfast. He took some eggs out of the fridge along with some milk and ham. He figured that making an omelette wouldn't be too difficult.

Well, it took about 2 minutes to realize he severely underestimated the difficulty of making an omelette, especially with a broken arm. Skeppy tried to flip it, but he couldn't hold the pan still as he scraped at it. He continued struggling for a minute before Bad walked up behind him.

He made Skeppy jump, but Bad quickly realized what Skeppy was trying to do. "I don't know if you can save that one..." Bad said. "But I do have an idea."

Skeppy quickly slid to the side, letting Bad take his place. "I wanted to make you breakfast..."

"Thanks Skeppy, but I see you were having some difficulty?"

"Yeah..."

"Well, it's the thought that counts! How about you sit down and I'll make the rest of this?"

Skeppy felt embarrassed that Bad was doing all the work. He felt useless due to his broken arm, but there wasn't anything he could do about it. He sat down at the counter and within minutes, Bad had made some good scrambled eggs.

"I'll have to teach you how to cook sometime," Bad said, placing the plate in front of Skeppy.

"I know how to cook!" He protested. "Some things..."

Bad laughed and sat down next to him. He had even poured them both cups of coffee. Skeppy took a few bites before hesitantly opening his mouth to speak. "So..." He began, "about last night..."

Bad turned to look at Skeppy, but didn't say anything, waiting patiently for him to speak.

"You really meant all the things you said?" Skeppy felt anxious that it might've been just a spur of the moment thing, and Bad didn't actually feel that way.

"Of course I did! I wouldn't have said those things if I didn't mean it. Those aren't words to be wasted on just anyone."

Skeppy still felt slightly nervous, but Bad's smile reassured him. He leaned over and hugged Bad. Bad hugged him back, even quickly kissing his cheek. Skeppy felt his face go red, but he laughed it off. "So what does this mean for us?"

Bad looked down at his plate. "I honestly don't know... I guess it is whatever we make of it."

"Well..." Skeppy said. "What do we make of it?" He felt silly with those words coming out of his mouth, but he knew it had to be a mutual agreement to be in a relationship or not.

"Well, it's really up to you whether we take this any further or not." Bad said hesitantly.

All up to me? Skeppy thought to himself. So I get to choose what happens next?

"For goodness sake, Skeppy! You know exactly what you want and this is your chance! Go for it!" Angel was sitting across the counter, looking at him.

Skeppy smiled at the fact that even Angel wanted him to say something. "Would you like to go on another date sometime, Bad?" Skeppy smiled as he asked.

Bad smiled back, "Yes!"

They both smiled at each other. Angel stood in the corner with a proud look on his face. "You did good, Skeppy." He didn't even finish his sentence before fading away, leaving Skeppy and Bad to talk.

BadBoyHalo POV

Bad smiled as Skeppy asked him out on a date. He never realized just how much Skeppy mattered to him. He was happy to say yes to Skeppy and take him wherever he wanted. Anything that made Skeppy happy would make him happy too.

Bad felt no regrets about what had happened the previous night. He even had a lovely dream about the beach while he was asleep. Bad looked over at Skeppy and thought he saw something in the corner of his eye. When he looked over, there was nothing there, but Bad felt sure of another presence in the room.

He had been feeling this strange presence ever since he came to Clearwater. When Bad looked back down at his plate, he was sure he saw something standing there. It wasn't until he looked up that he noticed Skeppy staring at where the shadow had been too, that he realized there was definitely someone else there with them.

"Hey, um, Skeppy?"

"Huh?"

"Do you feel that too?"

"Feel what?" Skeppy asked.

"The uh-" Bad wasn't even sure what to say. "Nevermind."

He noticed that Skeppy quickly turned back to his plate and didn't look up again. That's odd. Bad shrugged it off, though. Maybe he was just imagining things. Bad finished his eggs and took the two plates over to the sink to be cleaned. While Skeppy had a dishwasher, he felt that it would just be faster to clean the plates himself.

Skeppy had a guilty look on his face, so Bad asked, "What's wrong?"

"I just feel so useless..." Skeppy admitted. "You cook, you clean, you drive me places and you even buy me things! You do everything for me and when I try to do one simple thing for you, I can't..." Skeppy sounded disappointed.

"It's okay, Skeppy! I came here to take care of you and make sure you recover properly! I'm supposed to help you with these things."

"How can I repay you for this?" Skeppy still looked guilty.

"You being here for me is enough," Bad smiled at him.

Skeppy sighed, but seemed to calm down after that. Bad didn't feel Skeppy needed to repay him one bit. As long as they were together, he didn't have another care in the world. Except Rat. He still cared about Rat.
