It's the day of another wedding
Not just any wedding.
This is the day of AJ's wedding.
Peyton smiled at her sister, who looked gorgeous.
Over the past three years, AJ had moved to Tanner's and she was smitten. The couple had got engaged after two years of dating.
Peytons mom had got in touch with her daughters to tell them she was going to rehab to mentally fix herself. The daughters agreed and called her once a month.
Peyton had also changed in an aspect of her life.
She had been seeing someone from the past few months.
And she was happy.
No one made her feel like Noel did.
Peyton fixed her sisters makeup and her own as well. She was actually the maid of honour, again, but this time she wasn't backing out. Because her heart wasn't broken anymore.
Even when her sister asked if CNCO could perform at her wedding, the girl didn't object.
Because things change. People change.
"It's time" AJ bounced excitedly as her uncle walked up to the sisters to walk AJ down the aisle.
Christopher watched the procession. His friend Tanner looked happier than ever. He'd met everyone but not the one he wanted to meet.
The 'Wedding March' music played and Christopher turned.
He froze upon seeing Peyton.
But she wasn't alone.
A man was with her.
Wetness stung Christopher's eyes.
It was his fault.
He was the one who chose to believe those false statements.
She had never done anything with her ex.
But it was too late at the time.
They had to perform in a few minutes and he was warming up.
Suddenly, Peyton appeared.
"Hi" She said
"Hey"
"I just want to,um, clear the air between us....."
He nodded "I'm sorry Peyton"
He gulped.
She blinked.
"Listen, Christopher, let the past be the past? We can be...friends?" She said.
This was definitely the most awkward reunion ever.
"Yeah. Friends" The words felt like acid on his tongue.
Peyton nodded, smiling shyly and he ran on stage for the set as the first notes of Mi Medicina started to play.
"Apareciste en mi vida cuando yo estaba perdido
Y me entregaste lo mejor de ti, sin pedir nada más"
He sang the words while looking right at Peyton, who was in the arms of her new lover.
He would do anything to keep that angelic happiness on her face
Even if it meant sacrificing his own.
