Maddies POV

I ran out of Brads house my heart skipping a beat every so often. I ran past the car and I saw it was empty, they must be inside. I ran past my mums parked car on the drive and straight into the living room to see my mum sat there with two people in front of her. I ran over to her and she ran over to me and gave me a massive hug.

"Who's house did you go to?" She asked

"Oh I'll explain later. Would you like to explain why they are here?" I whispered

"I'll explain later" she laughed but a nervous laugh "you go up stairs and do homework or whatever while I talk to these police officers" she smiled nervously

I ran up stairs And pulled my phone out of my bag

Sorry I ran out on you like that I remembered my mum planned something for me and her so I had to go but do you wanna meet up next Monday after I've been to work? I get my money then too so we could go shopping ;) xx

I threw my phone on my bed and picked up my English book and started my homework but my phone interrupted me. I picked up my phone to see a text from Brad

Yeah I'm free next week but we can go shopping along as we go into SOME guy shops :) xx

I heard the front door close and I picked up my English book and carried on with my homework. My mum walked in

"That's my girl doing her homework" she smiled "can we talk now?"

"Yeah of course" I shut my book and my mum came and sat next to me on my bed

"So who's house did you go round?"

"Don't get mad but Brads because he wanted to explain to me and say sorry and he didn't want to leave me out in the cold because I forgot my keys"

"Did you forgive him?"

I nodded

"Well that's good because you two have been best friends for ages" she smiled

"After work next Monday can I go shopping with Brad?"

"Sure I'll give you some money for then"

"No it's fine! Im getting paid then"

"Oh okay"

"Now tell me why were the police here? Is it Dad?" I asked

She just nodded

"You know he got locked up for theft" I nodded "well they are releasing him next week"

"Is he staying here?"

"I don't know? Where else would he go?"

"The streets where he belongs"

"Maddie! he's your Dad he may be an idiot but he is your dad and you can't change that and he was doing it for us, we needed the money" she snapped

"I don't care mum!" I snapped back

"He may of changed!"

"Are we talking about the same person for god sake! You know what forget it I'm going out" I picked up my phone

"Yeah you go!" She shouted as I left and slammed the door behind me
