SAVANNAH

JM's question caught the both of us off guard.

Honestly, why does everyone thinks like that.

"Hay naku, ikaw talagang bata ka!" Jann ruffled JM's hair. "Bata bata mo pa, ganyan na naiisip mo."

"Edi girlfriend mo nga Kuya?" JM asked again.

"Hindi pa. Magkaibigan lang kami ni Ate Savannah mo." Jann answered, making me raise an eyebrow at him.

"Anong hindi pa?" I asked, amused. "So balak ka?"

"Wala akong balak." Jann retorted back.

"Ayusin mo kasi sagot mo sa bata." I argued back, laughing.

"Arte mo naman." Jann playfully rolled his eyes at me.

"Hindi ko girlfriend si Ate Savannah." Jann said looking at JM before looking back at me again. "Ayan, ayos na? Okay na ba sayo?"

"Alam niyo po Kuya Janjan at Ate Savannah, bagay po kayong dalawa." JM remarks and laughed.

"JM, ikaw talagang bata ka!" An older woman voice shouted.

Jann and I turned to see an older woman emerge from the doorway, her presence commanding yet warm.

She must be Nay Sabel I assumed.

"JM, ano bang kalokohan 'yan?" Nay Sabel scolded gently, though a hint of amusement twinkled in her eyes.

"Sorry po, Nay. Nagtatanong lang po ako, eh." JM replied sheepishly, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment.

"Ang cute po kasi nilang dalawa, Nay" JM added making me shake my head in amusement.

"Janjan! Buti naman nakarating na kayo." Nay Sabel greeted. "Ang tagal na rin nung huli kang napunta rito."

"Sus, si Nanay nagdrama pa." Jann laughed as he hugged Nay Sabel. "Namiss mo lang ako, Nay eh."

"Ikaw talagang bata ka!" Nay Sabel laughed and pinched Jann's ear playfully.

"At himala may kasama ka ngayon dito, Janjan." Nay Sabel said and looked at me.

"Si Savannah nga pala, Nay." Jann introduced me. "Kaibigan ko po."

"Magandang hapon po!" I greeted with a smile, offering a "Mano po" gesture in a show of respect.

"Magandang hapon din sa iyo, hija," Nay Sabel reciprocated, returning the gesture with grace. "Kay ganda naman nitong kasama mo, Janjan."

I felt a blush creeping up my cheeks at the compliment. "Ay maraming salamat po, Nay," I replied, appreciating the genuine warmth of their welcome.

"Oh siya, siya, alam kong pagod kayong dalawa sa biyahe. Halina na kayo sa loob." Nay Sabel's words of welcome filled the air with warmth as she ushered us inside her humble abode.

As I stepped over the threshold, I was greeted by a cozy interior that exuded charm and hospitality.

The walls of the house were adorned with woven tapestries and framed photographs. Sunlight filtered through the windows, casting a soft glow upon the hardwood floors and rustic furnishings, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and serenity.
