Azula's POV

"So what do we know about these beings of darkness," I asked them. "Oria's brother Dauntless, the God of Merciless Darkness, had wanted to create life. Be known for doing some kind of good, like his sister. But it went bad really quickly. It warped his mind like all dark magic and instead, he set out to destroy the light with his creations of darkness. Oria used her light of purity and took them out," Balthazar told me. "We only have a single Priestess who can use that light, and our son would kill us if we asked his mate to take part in the war," I said and Balthazar nodded. "So we need to find another way."

"What if we used mirrors," Yulen suggested from where he sat at the round table. "The sun light was blessed by Oria once our presence was here. So what if we used giant mirrors in the portal opening when we go across to shine the sun's light on to their army?" "Only problem is that the veil will be weak once the sun goes down," Lui said with a sigh. "Yes, but not everywhere," Laceria reminded him. "I was once reading a book on the witches, and how they once used a similar tactic in the war against a clan of vampires. They were able to make these magic portals that allowed them to use mirrors to shine it through. The portals even concentrated the light to turn it into a literal beam," Yulen said.

I nodded, "Only one coven specialized in that kind of magic, and I don't know if there is any of them still alive. With the restriction on magic for slaves, the younger witches won't know how to use those kind of spells, and the older ones who were alive during the war, will be too old to concentrate their magic since they have the same life span as humans do." "What's a coven," Lui asked me.

"It's what you call a unified group of witches," Atros answered. "Each species had their names for what they were called. Shifters had packs or prides depending if the shifter is canine or feline. Vampires had clans. Witches have covens. Pixies have Groves."

"What the hell is a pixie," Yulen asked him. Atros looked at me with a raised eyebrow, "Pixies didn't get enslaved?" I shook my head, "They went into hiding." "What the hell is a pixie," Laceria repeated. "They're much like the Fae in appearances," Atros explained. "Except they're two to three inches tall, have wings, and their magic doesn't have rules." "What do you mean doesn't have rules," Balthazar asked him. "Exactly that," I answered. "Their magic doesn't follow the rules like my magic does, or like a witch's. They have no limits, and can do almost anything."

"Pixies can generate sunlight," Atros said with sudden realization. "Their pixie dust," I said with a nod. "You two are speaking another language here. What's pixie dust," Lui asked us. "When they fly, their wings generate this magic dust. It is said their wings are made of sunlight solidified," I explained. "How would pixies go unnoticed by us," Laceria asked. "Many can change forms," I explained. "They could be living as demons, living inside the trees in forests, they could be any where," I told her. "They're so adaptive, it's insane," Atros explained to her. "They're also a trip when they've had honey." "Honey," Balthazar asked while looking at me. "It gets them drunk," I explained. "Real alcohol has no effect on them, but honey does. It has something to do with the way it's made."

"So how do we find the pixies," Lui asked us. "That is a question we don't have the answer too," I told him with a sigh. "They can be anywhere. Be anything." "We might be able to increase our chances of finding them," Atros said to us. He looked at Balthazar, "Did your people ever try to go somewhere in the world and weird shit happened?" Balthazar thought for a moment, but he shook his head, "Not that I'm aware. That would have been a question for my father. I was still recovering from the war when we settled."

I then thought about  before the war. "I know who we can ask," I said and then had Mokoto come to the room. "You summoned me your highness," Mokoto asked. "Before the war, wolves had control over almost every forest. Were there any forests that couldn't be claimed because of pixies?" Mokoto stood there and thought for a moment, "There is only one that remains unlived in. The Black Thorn Woods." "You have to be fucking kidding me," Yulen said with a sigh. "I'm surprised you never realized it," Mokoto said to me. "You used to often go into the woods to retrieve escaped slaves." "I never saw them though," I said. "Only because you weren't paying attention. Pixies are a special race of Fae. They would have recognized you and tried to help you had you asked for it," Mokoto reminded me. "And now that you're Queen, they'll bow to you," Atros said with a nod.

"Why is it that we're discovering another species able to avoid enslavement," Lui asked with a shake of his head. "Pixies played no part in the war," Mokoto shared. "They went into immediate hiding because they refused to part of the senseless bloodshed. They're not the only ones who got out of being enslaved. It was an unspoken agreement by the races that were enslaved, that this is our punishment because we had taken part in the war. The other races went into hiding when it began, so because they took no part in it, we kept quiet about them." "You have a point. Demons knew nothing when we came here, as I'm learning we're still learning things about this world," Balthazar said with a nod. "They'll continue to live as they are since they have no need to be punished. However, how many more races are we talking about here?"

"Merfolk, Sprites, Phoenixes, Sphynxes, Harpies, Necromancers, Succubi and Inncubi, and many more," I listed off. "Those races don't really have any combat abilities so they didn't take part." "Had the Necromancers stepped in, the war would have been done, and we all would have lost," Atros corrected. "How is that," Lui asked us. "They have the ability to raise the dead and control them. Including using that dead person's magic or abilities. In the war many were killed. A single Necromancer could raise an army of the undead by the thousands. I don't even want to think of how big that army would have been if more than one stepped into the war," Mokoto said with a shiver of disgust. "And the only way to take out one of the undead raised by a Necromancer is to kill the Necromancer, which isn't easy since the undead will do whatever it takes to protect their summoner."

"Gods this is information over load," Yulen said while rubbing his temples. "It gives us options though," Balthazar said. "Deckland is raising an army of darkness that he can raise by the millions. All of the races have things that could assist us in this war if we can get a unified army." "There aren't many of the unenslaved species though," I pointed out. "If there was, then you would have learned about them since many are human in appearance since only Pixies can change their appearances to look like a demon."

"I'm thinking that we involve those that were enslaved as well," he shared with us. "I don't know if they'll go for that," I told him. "Look at what the last war cost them. They lost their freedom." He nodded, "I am aware. That is why, I will propose to them an out. If they assist in the war, then they can have their freedom. There will be qualifications though." "If they try to rebel after, then they can go back to slavery," I said with a nod.

Later that night I was in the bathroom, brushing through my hair when he came and leaned into the doorway. "So what made you think of freeing the slaves," I asked him curiously. "You, Mokoto, Sashay, and Jenson," he answered. "My closest friends are slaves who don't deserve to be treated like slaves. And you were once a slave. Now that we know you have family alive, I don't want to risk someone trying to enslave them. Plus many who were alive during the war are either dead, their will is broken, or they were a child and played no part. We punished those that needed to be punished. Now it's time to release those who don't deserve it."

I smiled softly and put my hair brush down. I went over to him, "I think that's a very noble thing. Thank you." He lowered his head and kissed me. "Anything for you my queen," he whispered against my lips before lifting me up, my legs wrapping around his waist. He captured my lips in a heated kiss as he took me over to the bed.

An animalistic hunger woke up within the two of us. He wasn't gentle in the best of ways, and neither was I. The skin of his back was covered in deep scratches, my neck covered in marks from his mouth. We were both insatiable, not stopping to well after the sun was up the next day.

I laid on top of him, covered in a thin layer of sweat, my body shaking from the numerous intense orgasms he gave me. His fingers ran up and down my spine lazily. "I love you mo ghaol," I said while placing a kiss to his chest. "I love you too my queen," he said to me.
