Melinda refuses to eat her food. Happy does not understand what is the matter with her.
Allison hears the pitiful mews that Melinda makes.
"Melinda, it is okay, I will not make you leave," Allison says.
"You mean I can stay with my friends?" Melinda asks.
"Yes, Allison answers.
Melinda is so glad she does not have to go. She smiles. Then, she frowns when it dawns on her that Allison did not say she was staying.
Allison pets Melinda for the last time. "You were a great pet. I will miss you," Allison states.
The human walks outside and waits to see what happens. Allison sees a portal open, steps into it, and finds herself back in her world. She smiles even though she leaves alone with no pets now. She is grateful because she is sure she did the right thing.
Melinda is excited about the fact she gets to remain with Happy. Happy is as well.
Allison sees her pet on the Fairy Tail show later that night. She whispers, "Goodbye, Melinda, Goodbye."
Her eyes fill up with tears. For her it is a sad farwell.
