"They will be right in" I closed the door behind me after walking Kyle and his partner into the conference room, Marissa was still by my desk. She hadn't said a word since Michael cut her off mid sentence. I turned and saw Michael walking out of his office

"Did I catch you off guard?" the grin on his face shows me he knows the answer to his question

"Just a little"

"sorry I had to, those guys were looking at you a certain way" he shoved his hands into his pockets as he stepped closer to me

"It's okay cause Marissa was only there to see you, so that helped shut her up...hopefully"

"Well, shes looking over here so lets make sure to shut her up" he smirked before putting his hands on my waist and pulling me closer to him, I cupped his cheeks pulling his face closer to me before pressing our lips together. It was only for a few seconds but I know it did the job.

"What do you want to do for lunch today?" he asked after we pulled away from our kiss

"anything is fine with me" I smiled "just let me know" I turned to walk away

Marissa still standing at my desk, looked up as I was walking back, and just then a small smack was heard due to Michael's hand connecting with my butt. I stopped in my tracks, turned to look at him ready to ask him what he was doing, but all he did was wink at me and then walked into his office. I giggled as I turned back to walk to my desk

"Did you need anything?" I asked Marissa while approaching my desk once more

"Why did he kiss you?" she whisper shouted

"because we're dating" I sat back down to go through the folder of papers that needed to be scanned in

"I thought you said you weren't"

"No, I said we weren't official. But we are now"

"I just dont get it" she straightened herself up

"get what?"

"nothing, forget it" and with that she turned and walked away

"Just ignore her babe" he took a sip of his lemonade

"I will, its just annoying" I added

Michael brought me to Panera bread for lunch today. I will admit, its been slightly relieving knowing that Jacob has no way to follow or watch me from jail. It feels peaceful knowing that he can't do anything to me, but any time I think that my mind always reminds me that it wont be long until he's out again.

Part of me hopes that he will change from this, but the other part of me knows he wont. I keep hoping and wishing that he will abide by the rules once he's on parole, but knowing him I wouldn't fully expect him to.

"By the way, when we get back I'm going to just drop you off. I have to run and grab something for a meeting this afternoon" Michael's voice pulled me from my thoughts

"Okay"

"Are you alright?" he looked up from his, nearly gone, food

"Yeah, just loving how peaceful it is without having to worry about Jacob" I shoved the last bit of lettuce of my salad into my mouth

"me too" his eyes caught mine "but I promise we'll figure it out. In the mean time, lets get going back to work"
