Michael quickly pushed me behind him, my heart began to race again fearful of what was to come.

"You can't be here, she has a restraining order" Michael spoke up, I turned my head to the side to catch a glance. Jake stood there with an evil smile on his face before turning around towards the door to the stairs and disappearing "let's go I'm calling security" he held on to my hand pulling me behind him until we reached his office, he immediately got on the phone "Security, Jacob Thompson is on the premises and needs to be detained immediately. I'm calling the police"

He hung up and did what he said he would, dialed 911 and went through their routine questions until they said they would be on their way.

I let out a deep breath as my heart finally began to return to normal pace

"Well unfortunately since we weren't able to find him we can't do anything now" the officer informed me, Michael standing right behind me with his hand on my shoulder

"So what do we do?" Michael spoke up as I still tried to take in what just happened, apparently he escaped before security could get ahold of him so obviously without him here he can't get in trouble for violating the restraining order

"Unfortunately until we can catch him in the act there's not much to do besides report everything that he does so it'll go on file" he finished writing some more things down on his notepad and he walked out

Michael turned to look at me, everything still registering in my head..knowing that I have no control makes me feel helpless. He tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear before pulling me in for a hug, something I hadn't realized I needed.

I walked in to Michael's office, the smell of Chinese food filled the room. He had ordered lunch for us to eat in his office, to prevent having to go outside.

"You don't have to do this for me you know?" I stood at the entryway looking at him sitting on the couch he had in his office, the food sitting on the small coffee table he had in front of him

"Do what?" He started opening up the food without looking up at me

"Any of this, you don't have to stay cooped up in your office for me. I'm the one being stalked not you" I snickered a bit, hoping it'll make the sentence sound less insane

"I want to" he smiled up at me "close the door and sit before the food gets cold" I closed the door behind me, taking a seat next to him on the couch "so I need to tell you something" he said as he handed me a plate

"Okay" the word came out softer than intended

"I like you a lot too" he smiled "but I want to give you time to heal..I like you so much that I want to make sure you're okay before we start anything up" I looked up into his eyes and smiled, it would be so easy for him to take advantage of the situation but he didn't want that, he wanted me but he wanted me to be healed first

"Okay" I responded

"There's something else" he pushed a fork full of chow mein into his mouth

"What's up?"

"I was thinking you can move in with me" my head jolted over to him, slightly shocked "okay let me explain first" he chuckled at my expression "I have a 2 bedroom suite in a well protected building, we can carpool to and from work so you're not having to be alone. Nothing has to happen between us until you are ready"

I leaned in to him and kissed his cheek, smiling at him when I pulled away "Thank you" my eyes locked on his and I know he could feel what I did, I know he could feel a connection

"You shouldn't be alone Katie" the all too familiar silver doors closed in front of us as Michael began to speak "just spend the night tonight, tomorrow we can go grab your stuff and move things in little by little" I looked up at him and could see the genuine concern on his face, I knew then it wasn't a way to make a move.

"I need clothes to sleep in and to change into for tomorrow" I chuckled as the elevator approached our floor on the parking garage

"Okay let's go get some, you can leave your car there and drive back with me" we walked to our cars as I contemplated what the best decision was, honestly I didn't want to be alone, I know Jess is going to be with Trey, I mean most of her things were already out of the apartment besides furniture they wouldn't need, and I know I have a restraining order against Jake but he proved today that he doesn't care..with my luck he would show up

I unlocked my car, Michael standing behind me waiting to see what I decided

"Okay, follow me"

I walked into the quiet apartment with in earie feeling in my bones, Michael right behind me. I walked into the bedroom and grabbed a pajama set, consisting of a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. I grabbed an outfit for tomorrow along with shoes and shoved everything into a small duffel bag.

I made sure to take my keys with me just in case it was necessary, I decided to take my laptop in case I decided to do some apartment browsing, once I grabbed my phone charger I went through the apartment making sure all windows and doors were locked

"We'll be back tomorrow Katie" Michael chuckled as he watched me double check everything

"I know, just making sure" I smiled as he grabbed my bags for me and made his way out the door, again making sure that the door was locked

I followed Michael into his building, he was right in regards to security, it seems to be well secured. The door to the building itself only opens when a code is entered or someone buzzes you on, and there's a security guard in the lobby who watches everyone who walks in.

Definitely nicer and fancier than anything I'm used to. We rode in the elevator with our takeout in our hands

Even the elevator is fancy

The elevator doors opened on the 9th floor, when I stepped out of the elevator I looked around and only saw 3 doors along this spacious hallway..which confused the heck out of me.

Michael walked up to door 903 and slid his key into the lock, he opened it and moved to the side saying 'after you' allowing me to go in first. As I walked in I was greeted by ceiling to floor windows in the living room, a grey sectional sat on top of a black fuzzy carpet over the wood floors. To the right is the kitchen, stainless steel appliances filled the space, a single island sat in the middle, the black counter tops glistened from the bit of light entering from the windows.

When I walked in a little further I could see that to the left there's a small hallway, directly ahead an open door to the bathroom and could see another door, most likely leading to a bedroom. To the right another small hallway, 2 doors also on this side. Behind the couch was an open space where the dinning table was at, he had an all black table but it fit in perfectly

Although its only a 2 bedroom place, its very spacious. Nothing is crammed together, there's more than enough space to move around freely

"Like it?"
