Chapter 2 - Underground Tunnels

Chapter 2

"Someone's going to attack." She blurted out, "There's a lot of them."

"What are you talking about babe?" Niall asked.

She quickly stood up and looked out the window, "Right there, don't you see that woman? There's more of them. About ten of them I think."

"W-We have to leave as soon as we can. They're planning on attacking tomorrow and-" She rambled.

"She can see the future." Liam interrupted amazed.

Louis rolled his eyes and walked towards the window, "She's right, so get packing! Zayn when you finish, call the Elders. How did we not notice this?"

Zayn nodded and ran off to his room with Lina. Everyone quickly followed behind and Amanda awkwardly followed Niall back to his room. 

"Um... Do you need any help?" She asked, uncertain.

"I got this babe. We'll have to take you shopping when we get to our safe house." He smiled at her.

"Oh um okay." She nodded, "So, why are they coming after us?"

He paused from packing and walked towards her to hold her hands. "As much as I want to tell you right now, we don't have enough time for me to explain the full story. I'll tell you when we get somewhere safer princess, I promise. Now, why don't you go find Michelle and help her pack the food? She's having some difficulties."

"How do yo-"

"I read minds, babe." He chuckled.

"Oh, right." She blushed, "I'll be on my way."

As she slowly gets out of his grasp and leaves, Niall couldn't help but wonder what was going through her mind as he continued packing. He still couldn't read her and it was killing him. 

As she walked down the stairs, her fifth sense managed to find the kitchen. Michelle was standing inside the pastry closet and was shoving almost everything into duffle bags. 

"Need any help?" Amanda asked.

Michelle quickly turned around and nodded, "Yes, please! Just stuff the blue bag with blood, it's on the counter."

Amanda quickly did as told, but stopped halfway through.

"Wait, don't these need to be re-"

"Refrigerated? The bag is also a cooler." Michelle laughed.

"Oh, well now I feel stupid.." Amanda giggled.

"Don't worry about it. Louis still forgets a lot of things and he's the oldest." The two laugh. "So how are you doing so far? Y'know minus the sudden relocation and all?"

"I'm just really confused about everything."

"Well, you must have lots of questions and this is literally the worse time to appear. But don't worry! Niall will fill you in soon. You probably feel that connection with him huh? Just know that you're safe and you can trust him. He'll protect you with all his heart. We all will."

Amanda nodded with flushed cheeks.

"You'll also gain your memories from your old life soon. Those will help explain your questions about yourself. You were most likely saved from something horrible, like a sickness or something. It depends. Now let's get these bags into the living room. The boys will handle this from there."

Amanda did as told, before hesitating to go back upstairs to join Niall. She felt like a lost puppy, but there was a feeling in her that felt the need to always be with him. She couldn't explain it, he just feels safe. 

As she walked in, he was in the middle of changing his shirt so she caught a glimpse of his abs.  Blushing, he quickly pulled his shirt over his head.

"C'mon, we got to meet the gang downstairs. We're just about to leave. I'm sorry you came at a bad time..." He frowned.

"It's okay, you guys didn't plan for this." She smiled, "Now where exactly are we going?"

"We have another safe house."

She nodded and followed him out the room, as he carried all their bags effortlessly. She couldn't help but admire him from behind. Immediately a thought of the two of them together, with his strong arms wrapped around her, flashed in her mind before she shook her head and continued followed him. 

When they got downstairs, Liam and Harry took Niall's bags and threw them into the trunk of Zayn's black suv.

"Liam, Denmy, Michelle, Elide and I, will take the silver car. The rest of you, take Zayn's. He already knows the plan and we'll reunite at the house." Louis ordered, leaving no room for complaints.

Everyone immediately got into their assigned cars. 

Harry embraced Elide in his arms one last time before jumping in the front passenger seat next to Zayn. Amanda sat in-between Lina and Niall in the back seat of Zayn's car, still as confused and a bit torn because she wanted to ask more questions. She knew it was not the right time, but she was literally getting in a car with strangers to go to an unknown location. Niall saw the look on her face and it killed him to know that he couldn't read her mind.

As the car started moving downward, it got darker, with only the headlights lighting the way. When the car rolled to a stop, a wall opened and revealed a huge tunnel.

"What-is that a-" Amanda gaped.

"Underground tunnel? Yeah." Harry smirked.

"It was made for stealthy escapes in like the 1900s. Anyways, we're now about five miles away from the house." Lina explained.

"Wow, that's cool." She nodded.

Zayn looked at Lina through the mirror and sent her a wink. "You guys might wanna rest, It's going to be a long ride. We'll stop for food in the next town. Any request?"

"How about In-N-Out?" Harry suggested.

"Yes!" Amanda and Lina agreed.

They looked at each other and laughed. They spent the first two hours socializing about the most random things to distract from the stressful situation and they instantly connected! When Amanda eventually fell asleep, Lina kept Zayn, Niall and Harry company as Amanda subconsciously cuddled into Niall's body.

"Have you told her she's your soulmate?" Harry smirked, looking back at the two.

"No, not yet." Niall responded smiling down at her and readjusting her blanket.

"You have to sooner or later, but just wait for the right time considering everything." Zayn advised.

"Yeah, don't rush it!" Lina added, "I'm pretty sure she feels the same."

"Thanks guys." Niall flushed.

"No problem mate, we're here for you if you ever have problems." Harry winked.

Lina rolled her eyes, "So when are we stopping for foo-"

Amanda suddenly jolted up from her nap and froze. 

Minutes later, she began to breath heavily and choked out three words that had everyone worried.
