Ice Skating Love

Chapter 2

After I did my last skate for the ending of the Olympic event, I decided to go to the gala. Coach gave me one last gift and it was a beautiful dress. I made an expectation of no showing shoulder until I was 18. She accepted it but, wanted to give me a shoulder dress but gave up in the end. She wanted to give me a gift for an excuse for my early birthday from two weeks from now. "Coach you don't need to-" she putted her hand in front of me. "Call me Mary." I nodded and proceeded. "Mary, you don't have to give me a gift." She looked at me without emotions. "I have to. You won the gold medal and your birthday is 2 weeks away. Here you go." She gave me a box and seemed wrapped up. I putted it in my bed and opening up what dress did she gave me to make sure I don't show skin. Sure enough, not surprising, a dress showing my shoulders. "Mary." I looked stern at her. "(Y/n), wear this for this one time. You need to learn to show your shoulders." I nodded and putted it on. To be honest, it's beautiful. I should wear this more often. "Okay Mary, you win. I should wear theses types of dresses often." She smiled and left since I have to do my hair and not so much on makeup since I'm not big fan of it. "(Y/n), I want to talk to you alone." Coach- I mean Mary left so mother could talk to me. "Darling, I have some news. I'm not sure how you'll react. We're moving to Canada." Wait, moving. This is actually great, I don't have to see faces I don't want to see. "That's great! Can you explain why?" Mother explained why we are moving to Toronto, Canada. I have to agreed on it since I'm going to work on my trainings and since it'll be better to live there. After she finishes, she helped me do my long hair to curls (Sorry for short hair people). We left the hotel and hopped on the car and went to the venue of gala. It wasn't a long or short ride and got out of the car. Mother was with me to supervise me, which I find a good mother to me. "Here we are (y/n). Have fun but, not too much." I smiled and nodded. I accidentally bump into someone. "Sorry, I didn't mean to." I looked at the person and it was maia shibutani. "It's fine. I'm maia shibutani. You must be (y/n) (l/n), right?" I nodded. "Yes, it's a pleasure to meet you Maia. Also, congratulations on getting the bronze medal." "Thanks. Me and my brother worked hard. Oh, I need to introduce my older brother. Come." I nodded and started to follow her to meet her brother, her partner for ice skating. "Alex, there you are. I want to introduce to someone. (Y/n), this is Alex my brother. Alex, this is (y/n)." Before she could continue, he says, "Ah, the young gold medalists. It's a pleasure to meet you." "It's a pleasure of mine. Congratulations on getting the bronze medal with your sister." He thanked me and started to have a conversation. During the conversation, I meant a lot of people.
I started to get along with these ice skaters and to be honest, it was fun of meeting them and knew it was time to go home. Maia and Alex gave me their phone number to continue talking after our practice, I even meant yuzuru and talked a bit. Since I was starting to leave, we exchanged numbers to keep talking. With that, I went to mother since it's almost time to leave. "Mother, it's time to go." She nodded and we packed our suitcases since our flight was around midnight. We have to go back to our home to pack our things yo move in Canada. This good to start a new chapter over there.

15 hours later...

It's tiring managed to sleep for 12 hours, I know alot. We got to the parking lot and managed to get out of a lot of people and went straight home. We got home and the first thing I do was start getting boxes to put my things in, mother did the same. I guess I will miss this place, even after when father disappeared, I hope I could find father.

3 months later...

We're here in Toronto, Canada! It wasn't a long flight and was just a few hours. We're staying with Grandmother's house since she's been by herself with a 3 story house. I'm glad because I missed and we couldn't visit her much since I have nationals and competitons. She supports me and cheer me on when she's watching from a distance. "(Y/n), your room is on the third floor. Your grandmother will let you sleep in 2nd or 3rd floor." I nodded and see which room I want to stay. I decided to stay in the second floor asince there's one room with the balcony and I want to see the night if I'm not able to sleep. I'll decrorate my room around next week since this week II must know which way I'll be going to find the cricket club. I got a call from from Mary. "Hey, how's your stay in Canada." I laugh knowing she was being saracastic. "I'm doing great, why?" Before I could tell what she's up to, she knows what I'm up to. "I found out you dumped your ex boyfriend." How did she know? I took away my thought and asked her directly, "How did you know?" She laughed. "I have my sources. Good thing you broke up with him, I didn't like one bit of him. I could tell he's a douche." I laughed since she was telling the truth. We talked a bit and we hanged up since I have unpacking things. I received another call but, from Maia. "Hey, I wnna know how's your stay in Canada?" I laugh how she said it. We talk and Alex came in the call since they want to know how I was. Their pretty cool to hang out with and to be friends with. After I finished the call I went to grandmother's room and said, "Grandmother, I'll be out for  like 2-4 hours." She smiled and looked at me, "Okay, but if you don't make it, come around when dinner is ready." I nodded since dinner is around 6pm we usually have it. I changed my clothes and went to find an ice rink to skate and prepare for a bit and practice a little. While I was skating, I thinking something else. I how father is? why would he go missing after 12 years? I guess time will tell. After I finshed, I didn't realized I finished my skate and decided to go home and beofre I left, I heard my name, "(Y/n)!" I turned a round a saw Yuzuru. I wne tu to him and said, "Yuzuru, how are you?" He looked at me and took a deep breathe. "I'm doing good." It seems he's been practicing his english. "Your english is doing good." I gave him a thumbs up. He laugh but, knows he wants to get better at english. "I have to go it's good seeing you!" I waved at him and waved back. With that I looked at the time. It's...6:05?! After that, I started to run home knowing mother will get mad if I don't get there around 6:30pm. The minium is 6:00 but the maxium of getting how was 6:30pm since it's late for  me and mother.  I managed to get on the station on time, it was a 15 minute ride and I got out, it was 6:20. It's a ten minute walk but, I have to run like my life depends on it. I got home and get the time again. "...6:27...good." I went inside quickly and took off my shoes and saw mother and grandmother eating. "Your home, thank god. I was startng to worry about you. Go and fresh up, I'll serve you dinner." I nodded and took a 5 minute shower and went downstairs dining room to eat. "(Y/n), sweetie, why did you came, well almost late?" I looked at grandma and mother and said, "Sorry, I was focused on the rink I didn't notice the time." She nodded and went back eating until mothr said, "(Y/n), are you telling the truth? You didn't meet anyone?" Well there's no point to lying to mother since she could find things out easily. "Before I got home, I bumped into Yuzuru. We talked for a bit , that's all." I went back to eating and I though for a second I saw my mother smiling. "Oh that boy, from the Olympics, right?" I nodded unsurely of what mother will say next. "(Y/n), you should ask him out." I looked at her deadpan. "Mother, I'm not-" Before she could let me finished, she kept saying. "Come on darling. We're in Canada, you could date someone when your sixteen. Oh, I almost forgot, your training starts next week and we're going to stay here permanently." I nodded and went to bed to change and brush my teeth. I guess it isn't bad of meeting Yuzuru and staying here I guess. I hope everything goes well for me and for my skating career.
