After a long sparring session, the two boys collapsed onto the grass, sweating bullets. Lucas hadn't disappointed; he met up with Bakugou right after school ended. He wore a simple grey t-shirt and some comfy black shorts to accommodate for the session.

"Not bad, heart eyes," huffed the one with ash blond hair, "but I still won."

The pink haired boy laying next to him grinned. "By a hair. Next time I'll pummel you into the ground."

Bakugou gave him a look. "I'd love to see you try."

Lucas rolled over so he was leaning his face above the other student's. He lowered his face to the boy's ear and whispered. "I could use my quirk on you right now and turn you into mush. Wanna give it a go, Katsuki?" he teased.

Although this was obviously a real threat that Lucas could seriously act upon, Bakugou didn't seem to mind at all. Instead, he shivered in delight.

"Bring it."

Lucas pretended to blow a kiss at the boy in question, letting some glitter that he collected from his hair fly towards his face.

Bakugou jumped up from his spot and dodged the powder with the grace of a gymnast. He twisted his body and raised his arm, readying an attack.

It had been a while since someone was able to fight and talk to him without fear (aside from Kirishima). Bakugou was enjoying having someone else to talk to that wasn't a complete idiot.

For the rest of the day, even from a distance, people could hear the loud blasts and laughter of the two friends coming from the park.

"Y/n, I'm worried about you. I- I mean, I know you're strong, cause you uh- you sure- you sure showed those villains how strong you are- and frankly, I'm pretty scared of you now. B-but- I mean, you're still cool- I uh- I'm just meant that-"

She put a finger on his lips, only slightly annoyed. "You're muttering again, Izuku."

"Oh, sorry. I just got all nervous thinking about what you did at the USJ.."

"It's okay, I know you mean well. Regarding the incident, that's never happened before. I had no idea I could even do such a thing! Now I feel like I should have asked more about my parents' quirks when I could. Maybe that would have helped me understand mine better."

Izuku looked up at Y/n's face, trying to analyze her reaction to the mention of the girl's parents. She barely talked about them, which was already a bit suspicious, but now she looked almost pained when talking about them. That alone was alarming, and then there was the fact that Y/n kept addressing them in past tense.
He hoped that the next question he asked wouldn't be too personal.

"Hey Y/n," he started, "how- how are your parents doing?"

Y/n tightened her hold on Izuku's phone. She had an air of discomfort around her. Izuku noticed this, but he decided to press on, albeit gently.

"L/n-chan, you know you can tell me anything, right?" He said softly, putting a hand on hers. "Is everything okay at home?"

Said student looked away, almost ashamed. She didn't want to tell him this. She wanted to keep him from knowing how awful a person she was. She didn't want him to see her as a murderer, an abandoned and hated child, a monster. She wanted him to just know her as a friend.
She wanted him and her to share the memories of discovering snails by the preschool; catching frogs by the pond by her house; sharing his jacket in the wintertime because she forgot hers in the classroom and the teacher wasn't there to unlock the door.
