-Y/N-
As the bell for lunch sounded, you took initiative to gather your things in preparation for your next class. When finished, you picked up your lunch from your locker and went to the courtyard to eat. You already packed a homemade lunch for yourself- a simple meal of rice and beef curry- so you didn't really see the need to go to the cafeteria.
What you didn't expect was to be followed.
You turned around, hand jolting to your eyepatch swiftly in case of a threat. You came to be face to face with none other than your childhood friend, Izuku Midoriya.
"W-woah, L/n-chan! Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I just thought that I'd never see you again, and since I saw you here, I thought maybe we could catch up?"
Your gaze softened. It was true that you pushed others away since the incident with your quirk so many years ago, but Izuku was someone who was friendly to you, even right after you two discovered your powers. Taking into consideration that you hadn't seen each other for maybe ten years yet he still remembered you, and the fact that he still wanted to talk to you, how could you turn him down?
"Sure. How've you been, Midoriya-chan?"

After filling each other in on all they'd missed when they were separated, they decided that they should start eating so that they wouldn't starve during the next two classes. You took out your lunchbox and he took out his, and you both began to eat.
Through muffled speech, Midoriya started to ask again about your quirk. It seemed like he still retained that fragment of his old personality, you thought. His obsession with quirks.
"My quirk is called 'Delete'. If I look at anything or anyone with both of my eyes, they will be erased from existence. I can't control it yet, which means I have to wear this eyepatch," you pointed to your right eye, "so i don't delete everything around me from existence. Also, I can't 'Undo' my quirk." You explained. "The only things that really bother me about wearing my eyepatch is that it makes me a bit clumsy... and I tend to attract unwanted attention a lot."
Midoriya hummed, putting a finger to his chin in thought.
"Y/n... can I call you that?"
You nodded, opting to call him Izuku as well.
"Y/n, I want to help you. I always have. So will you let me help you figure out how to restrain... no, undo the effects of your quirk?"
You didn't quite get how he would be able to help you with that, but you appreciated the thought and nodded a 'yes'.
"Sure... Izuku," you tested the name out loud, "thank you."
Your childhood friend's eyes seemed to sparkle in the sunlight that filtered through the leaves of the tree you two sat under. It filled you with a sense of hope, and a tiny bit of happiness since you finally got to reunite with the green haired boy.

Lunch was over; it was time for English class to start. You entered the classroom with Izuku and chose a seat near the middle, by the window, since the rest of the seats at the back were already taken. Izuku placed his bag onto the desk in front of yours and unpacked his things. You did the same with your belongings.
Suddenly, the door slammed open to reveal Present Mic in all his leather-clad glory.
"HELLO, STUDENTS! TODAY WE'RE GOING TO LEARN ABOUT... DRUMROLL PLEASE..." He paused for dramatic effect.
"ASKING QUESTIONS IN ENGLISH!!"
Most of the students in class sighed or made a noise of annoyance. Except for Yaomomo, who sat behind you, and yourself, since you lived with your family in an English-speaking country for two years or so, in the past.
Before you got the chance to, Ochaco Uraraka, one of your classmates, asked Present Mic if they would be able to choose their partners.
"YES! YOU ARE FREE TO PICK WHOMSOEVER YOU WISH!
AND REMEMBER, ONLY TWO PEOPLE PER GROUP!!!"
His voice was bound to give you severe headaches if he kept talking like that, you thought to yourself.
Izuku turned around to face you. It seemed like he was going to ask to work with you, but then Uraraka popped out from who knows where and asked him first. While transforming into a red blushing mess, he agreed, but then realized what had happened and gave you an apologetic look. You only nodded sadly towards him.
Yaomomo then tapped your shoulder, probably about to ask you to partner up for the task. Unfortunately, another student with earlobes that looked like earphone plugs walked up to her and asked her to, first. Yaomomo, being the polite student she was, couldn't find it in herself to turn her down. She also sent you an apologetic look, much like Izuku's.
You sighed. Those two were the only friends you had in the class. What would you do now? You didn't feel like asking around, in fear of getting rejected or having your anxiety lead to you becoming a stuttering mess.
Before you could delve any deeper into your thoughts, a deep voice spoke up, alarmingly close to your ear.
"Hey. Partner up with me."
Your head whipped up from your desk in surprise. You came face to face with a classmate that you noticed earlier in the day, with gorgeous ice-blue and gray eyes, half red and half white hair that was parted through the middle, and a completely emotionless looking face. He was truly an amazing sight to behold.
Looking away briskly to stop your staring, you responded with a simple "okay" before you could think about it any further. The boy, who you later learned to be named Shoto Todoroki, seemed satisfied and sat down at the seat that Izuku was at (before he left to go to Uraraka's desk).
"So, what are we doing again?" He asked, in an almost monotone voice.
You took out a paper and began to write.
"Yamada-sensei projected some questions on the board for us to ask each other in English, to practice our speaking skills." You showed him the paper. "Let's start. Do you want to go first?"
"I'm fine with that, I guess." Todoroki replied.
He looked at the page and then back to you.
"Whatto.. issu yoru favourite food?" He said in English. He still had a bit of an accent, but was still pretty good, you noticed.
"My favourite food is f/f." You said in perfect English.
Todoroki seemed impressed. "Well, you ask the next question," he said in Japanese.
You checked the paper. "What is your favourite colour, Todoroki-kun?"
He thought for a moment. "My favourite colour issu grey, I thinku."
This continued on for about 30 minutes more, since there were 16 questions and you both had to ask and answer each of them. Present Mic, or Yamada-sensei as you and your classmates now called him, came around and asked some of the questions to you and your peers to see if you were actually practicing, at some point. Then, when there was only about 10 minutes left, he told the everyone that they could work on things from their other classes or just chill out until class was finished.
You let out a sigh of relief. "Good job, Todoroki-kun. You can go back to your seat now, if you want." You honestly enjoyed talking to him though, even if it was through awkward English sentences, so it wasn't like you really wanted him to go. It was the most you had talked to someone in a long time, even if it was forced.
Unfortunately, Todoroki just nodded and said "shitsurei shimasu," before heading over to his desk on the other side of the room.
