The next morning at Kukui's house, Pikachu, Kukui, Burnet and Rotom Dex were waiting in anticipation while Ash stood in the middle of the living room. He was holding a fresh malasada in the air with one hand, looking around in different directions.

"Ash, nothing's happening," Rotom said.

"Shh," Ash said. "Just watch."

Suddenly a ring appeared out of thin air. Kukui, Burnet and Rotom watched in excitement as a small, grey hand appeared to be reaching through towards the malasada while Ash and Pikachu grinned. Quickly, Ash dropped the malasada and grabbed the little hand.

"Gotcha!" Ash yelled happily while Pikachu cheered.

The ring grew a little bigger and a grey creature with horns floated through, pouting.

"No fair, Ash-Kan!" it said, crossing its arms as the floating ring shrunk and attached itself to one of the creature's horns.

"Were you surprised, Hoopa?" Ash smiled, placing the malasada in a paper bag. After putting the bag in his pants pocket, he eagerly pulled the mythical Pokémon into a big hug.

"Pika!" Pikachu squealed as he jumped to Ash's shoulder to nuzzle Hoopa.

"Very," Hoopa grinned as he hugged Ash and Pikachu. "Hoopa missed Ash-Kan and Pi-Kan!"

Rotom squealed in excitement as it flew around, eagerly taking as many pictures of the new Pokémon as it could. Kukui and Burnet stared in amazement, their eyes shining as they took in the sight of the mythical Pokémon from the Kalos region.

"Incredible," Kukui breathed. Hoopa looked at the professors in surprise before looking back at Ash.

"Ash-Kan," Hoopa said shyly. "Who are they?"

"Hoopa, these are Professor Kukui and Professor Burnet," Ash smiled. "They are my guardians while I'm staying in Alola."

"Hoopa, I know every story and legend about you," Burnet said in excitement. "You're amazing!"

"It is an honour to meet you," Kukui grinned.

Hoopa looked away in embarrassment, hiding its face in Ash's shoulder. Ash smiled softly while Pikachu patted Hoopa's head gently.

"Hoopa's a little shy about its past," Ash explained. Burnet and Kukui nodded with kind smiles.

"We understand," Kukui said. "Now Ash, I just want to make sure that everyone is okay with this."

Ash nodded as he released Hoopa.

"Of course, Professor," Ash said respectfully. "Hoopa, would you open a ring for me to see Baraz and Meray?"

"Hoopa can do that, Ash-Kan!" Hoopa said happily as it held its arms up. "ALLEHOOPARING!"

Kukui, Burnet and Rotom watched in amazement as one of the rings left Hoopa's horn before expanding in the middle of the room. Once it had gotten to a large size, it started to glow. Ash smiled, handing Pikachu to Kukui before walking over to the ring. He leaned through, his upper body briefly disappearing before reappearing again, holding someone's hands. Ash gently stepped back, pulling through a male and a female wearing robes. The ring then shrunk and floated back to Hoopa.

"Hello," the male said, bowing. "My name is Baraz and this is my sister, Meray."

"We are Hoopa's guardians and met Ash while he was traveling through Kalos," the female said with a respectful bow.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both," Kukui said while Burnet nodded in agreement.

"Updating data on mythical Pokémon Hoopa," Rotom said quietly as it finished taking photos of Hoopa and the siblings.
