ɢᴇᴍɪɴɪꜱ' ᴘᴏᴠ

I kick open the door to our place, tired from a long day at school, to see Aquarius sprawled down on the sofa with a big grin on her face, I smile back at her confused. Aquarius is usually a happy person, but her smile is odd, almost bitter. "are you good?"

"we're rich!" She bursts out her eyes glinting.

"since when?" I snort seating myself on the arm of the sofa.

"you don't believe me?" she raises an eyebrow. I stare at her playing with my tongue ring, It's become a habit by now. It took a while to get use to when i first got it but It was probably one my least painful piercing. "go ask dad if you don't believe me"

"where is he?" I grunt as I pick myself up from the sofa which makes an odd crunching sound as i stand.

"He's in the study" she picks up a pair of sunglasses from the shelf and slides them on, I'm not sure why, It's not sunny. "oh and if you need to ask him anything i would now, he's in a very good mood" I nod at her as I stroll to my dads study. I wouldn't really call it a study, It's more like a small room with lots of random objects in it. My favourite is the globe which sits on a shelf covered with papers, dad says it's magic but I still haven't figured out how.

"gemini!" My father opens arms welcomingly as he spins around on his chair "did Aquarius tell you the good news?"

my eyes widen "we're rich?" I can almost see it, a new big house, those shoes i Always wanted. and popularity! money always brings popularity! not that i'm not already popular enough but this will really give me a level up.

"I wouldn't say exactly rich... but we do have..." He stops for a second to rummage around for something in his desk. I sigh, how could he lose something that could give us so much already?

"ah here it is!"  I frown to see my father take out only a golden necklace with some kind of dull green crystal hanging of it, It glitters among the dust as the sun shines against it.

If I'm being honest i was expecting a big bag of gold coins or something, but I guess I should be grateful. I mean jewellery like that could cost a fortune. And we sure do need it, especially after last full moon.

Every full moon us werewolves turn in to wolves, but off course because of village rules and all that we are forced to transform in private. I never understood that but I guess transformations can get a bit, chaotic at the least. Not that I care about the law but it's pretty hard to hide and I don't wanna end up in jail. Anyways, our transformations are pretty painful, last full moon was the worst.

I chuckle in disbelief "where did you find something like that?"

"an old friend" he grins at me, the gold reflecting in his eyes as he twirls the necklace around in his hand. I hesitate before reaching out to touch it, It's weird that something so small can cost so much "HEY HEY! no touchy, we're gonna get a lot of cash for this!" He smacks my hand harshly.

"You stole it didn't you" I smirk rubbing the place he hit my hand.

"you say stole, I say borrow" He dangles the gold chain above his eyes "yup this could give us at least few hundreds, or even thousands "  Dad always steals stuff, he's pretty decent at it too.

"sooooo can this borrowed money get me some new shoes?"

"sure thing kid!" My father places the necklace into a paper bag before sliding it into a wooden draw, It creaks when he pulls on it.

"WE GOT A LETTER" Aquarius's booming voice makes me jump. As soon as I hear the word 'letter' I bolt through the narrow corridor, It's been a while since we last got a letter, at least three years. I don't know why but it excites me.
