Steve and Peggy whilst driving through Brooklyn.

"I know this neighborhood. I got beat up in that alley. And that parking lot. And behind that diner." Steve says, his mood slowly souring at the not-so-fond memories.

"Did you have something against running away?" Peggy asks, a little amused.

Steve peers up at her, softly sighing. It's always that same question. "You start running they'll never let you stop. You stand up and push back. Can't say no forever, right?" Steve asks

"I know a little of what that's like. To have every door shut in your face." Peggy says

"I guess I just don't why you'd wanna join the army if you're a beautiful dame. Or a beautiful... a woman. An agent, not a dame! You are beautiful, but..." Steve says

"You have no idea how to talk to a woman, do you?" Peggy asks with a small chuckle, relaxing in her seat.

"You can tell? Uhh yeah, the only woman I really talked to was this woman by the name of Freya, and even then I was awkward." Steve says

"Who's this Freya?" Peggy asks curiously, noticing the happy look on his face as he mentions this mysterious woman.

"She's a Doctor and she's amazing, I asked her out on a date, which seems impossible for me to do but she said yes." Steve says, pleased.

"Did you take her out for dancing?" Peggy asked "Sadly no, I had to leave, which she completely understood. And I mean who wants to dance with a guy who they might step on." Steve says

"You must have danced?" Peggy ask

"Well, asking a woman to dance always seems so terrifying. And the past few years just didn't seem to matter that much. Figured I'd wait." Steve says "For what?" Peggy asks "The right partner." Steve says

"And was Freya the right partner?" Peggy asks "I don't know, I was hoping to get to know her more. I don't even know if Freya actually liked me or said yes out of pity." Steve says

He hoped not.

"I highly doubt that." Peggy says

They pull up by an antique shop and get out of the car.

"This way." Peggy says "What are we doing here?" Steve asks "Follow me." Peggy says

They go inside.

"Wonderful weather this morning isn't it?" Store owner asks "Yes, but I always carry an umbrella." Peggy says, watching as a hidden door slowly pops open.

Peggy leads Steve into the hidden lab to Dr. Erskine and his team in a big circular room filled with machinery and a pod in the middle.

"Good morning." Erskine says

He shakes Steve's hand and somebody takes a photograph"Please, not now." Erskine says, waving the man away.

The photographer walks away, Steve looks at the pod, noting the number of people that were watching him.

"Are you ready?" Erskine asks

Steve nods.

"Good. Take off your shirt, your tie, and your hat." He orders

....

In the adjacent observation chamber filled with officials.

"Senator Brandt, glad you could make it." Phillip says "Why exactly am I in Brooklyn?" Brandt says

"We needed access to the city's power grid. Of course, if you'd given me the generators I requisitioned..." Phillips says

"A lot of people are asking for funds, Colonel." Referring to his company. "Oh, this is..." Brandt says
