Family Reunion 3

"Hey, Bruno let's dance." I pull him on to the tiles.

He smirks. I scoff, "it's not what you think, you dare move your hands lower and I'll cut you."

"Oh, so you're into that kinda stuff?" He winks at me.

I roll my eyes. Behind Bruno I see Joey pulling Lola onto the dance floor.

What is he doing? I thought-never mind.

What I didn't realize about this salsa is that the ladies spin and switch partners.

I spin out of Bruno's hands and my next partner is a boy who looks like he's at most 17.

"You're Isabella. I'm Niko. Nice to meet you." He winks at me.

Oh gosh, "and I am a decade too old for you." Niko places his hands on my waist lifting me gently and placing me back down before I get spun to my next partner.

Which is Frank? I smile. "Hey, Frank."

"Isabella it's nice to see you again. Maria hasn't stopped talking about you since you left the barn be sure to visit once more before you leave alright?"

"Of course I will." And this time I am dancing with, Lola?

I chuckle, "how did you get on that side?"

"I tricked Niko and now he's dancing with Bruno."

I give Lola pleading eyes, "please keep me away from Joey?"

"Why?"

I put on an unsettling smile, "I'll explain later."

Luckily the song ends before I could reach Joey. Everyone scatters and Joey tries to come to me but is pulled away by some older women.

And I am pulled away by a ton of small children.

"Izzy we want to race you." They drag me on the field.

They are kind of cute, "I can't run in heels."

They chant that I should take them off. I'm about to run with a bunch of kids.

I take off the heels I pray Lola doesn't see me.

All I have to do is run to a tree. I get into my starting position. But with one hand. My other hand is holding the train attached to my dress.

The kids count all together yet say go at all different times. I let them get a second head start before sprinting about forty meters.

Yes, I win but it was actually kinda fun.

All of a sudden I hear crying.

I have never heard a child crying before. I don't know what to do.

The kid who fell. A girl... she looks like she's at most two or three years old.

I don't know why I did it but I put back on the heels and picked her up.

The girl leans her head on my chest and calms down.

I try to put her down and she screams. So I keep her in my arms.

I go back to the adults and I try to find Lo or Liv. They are both gone. How is that possible?

"They saw you with the kid and ran." Mason sneaks up on me.

"Mason please help me?"

He shakes his head, "you are playing with my best friend Isabella. I don't like that."
