𝘈𝘊𝘊𝘌𝘚𝘚 𝘛𝘖 𝘏𝘌𝘙 mother's available home listings as a real estate agent had allowed Graylin to find Rafe an empty house to squat in while he worked to make amends with his dad. After a few days however, it became clear to her that he wasn't really trying to get back into his house when his new life also came rent free but without any consequences.

While Rafe spent most of his days sleeping, partying, and golfing, Graylin spent hers surfing with her friends and working shifts at the Wreck. She didn't mind that she hardly saw Rafe before nightfall even though she enjoyed his company. Being able to focus on her commitments rather than getting engulfed by her feelings for him made her feel more in control of herself. This made her happy about dating the Cameron boy since she hadn't had to give anything else up. It also made the nights she did get to spend with him feel all the more meaningful.

Graylin had also managed to make amends with Topper. The reality was that the siblings were placed in an agree-to-disagree situation though Graylin knew that a fleeting peace wouldn't be enough to keep her brother from hurting the Pogues. She had a feeling, however, that he would eventually come to his senses especially with Rafe's encouragement out of the picture thanks to her doing.
