𝘙𝘈𝘍𝘌 𝘏𝘈𝘋 𝘈 thousand thoughts running through his mind as Graylin led him to the kitchen where she helped him run his wrist under cold water for a few minutes. She worked diligently but quietly and her refusing to meet his eye made the task of trying to figure out what was going through her head all the more difficult for him.

Once they'd retreated to his room, however, he noticed a difference in her composure. He visibly saw her shoulders relax in the tight-fitting crop top she was wearing and once she'd turn to him after taking in his room, she finally looked him in the eye. Rafe felt his chest tighten from witnessing the compassion shining in her light brown eyes. When she held out her hands, taking them in his felt like the most natural thing to do.

"Do you have a first-aid kit?" She asked him softly, slowly rubbing the outside of his hands with her thumb. "We should put gauze around the burn so it doesn't become irritated."

While Rafe went to go retrieve the kit from the bathroom, Graylin dragged the chair from his desk over to his bed. When he got back to his room, he seated himself on his bed while she took the chair and got right back to work once he'd handed her the roll of gauze from the kit.
