Chapter 31

Immortality

Not Intended for readers under the age of 18

WARNING - THIS CHAPTER IS NOT INTENDED FOR READERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 - I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR READERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 WHO READ THIS!!!!!!!

A/N: Just a heads up to make reading easier, some of the more intimate parts of this chapter switch back and forth between Alec and Magnus' perspectives.

To My Wonderful Readers: I know there has been some delay on new chapters and there is a reason for that. This is what I call a 'remastered' chapter. From Chapter 28 – Mission Plans & Extractions Part 2 through Chapter 36 – The Claiming Part 3 I am reworking and enhancing the chapters to include new story that's vital in us turning the next corner in this journey. Please be patient with me. New chapters are coming, but these must be done first. I hope you enjoy all that is new.

Pain. That's what Alec felt. Pain he shouldn't be feeling. Gripping the old butchers block table, he held his rounded belly with his free hand. He had to get to somebody. Anybody.

The pain was stealing his breath. He couldn't call for help. All he could do is try and move. To move towards his family. They weren't far away. They were just down the hall in the training room. But it felt like they were miles away.

The next sharp stab of pain knocked the air from his lungs and made his head spin in the worst possible way. 'I can't fall.' Was all that he could think. He couldn't fall on his babies.

The warm gush of wet down his legs made his heart stop and his blood run cold. He knew what it was. It was blood. He knew then that he was losing his babies.

Doing the only thing he could think of he picked up his brother's coffee cup and thew it against the wall where it shattered and splattered the still warm coffee across the pretty cloth wallpaper and hardwood floor.

"Alec." Izzy called. "Everything okay?"

He knew that when he didn't answer that she would come. That they all would come.

"Alec!" Clary called from outside. She'd felt his pain and his fear through their bond.

'She's in Haven.' His muddled mind thought. He was dizzy. So very dizzy and it was making it hard to think. To focus. In that moment he didn't remember their portal rune. He'd lost too much blood too fast to remember it.

"Alec!" She called again, the old screen door creaking open. "No." She breathed when she saw her parabatai. She'd known that something was wrong when she'd started having a weird cramping pain. So, she'd portaled out of Haven as quickly as she could.

She hadn't known what she would find when she got to The Manor, but she hadn't expected to find this.

He was barely holding onto the old butchers block table, a pool of blood at his feet. She didn't have to ask where it had come from, but they had to move fast. He was losing his babies.

"Jace! Get help!" She said as she caught him as his knees gave out.

Alec wasn't sure why he was hearing his Clare-bear's voice, but he was glad that he was. It was comforting. All thought had abandoned him, but her voice was comforting.
