'Robert,
I must say that I was more than a little surprised
to receive your letter, but it was a relief. No one has
known what to think since your disappearance
from the Institute and to be honest I had come
to fear the worst.
I will also say that I am more than a little confused.
Against my better judgement I have spoken to the
young lady you mentioned, and we will be where
you requested at the time you requested. It is only
my faith in you and our friendship that I am willing
to make this endeavor.
We have all been under great scrutiny since you're
disappearance and anything that seems unusual
or suspicious is immediately called into question.
Things here have changed.
I can't begin to imagine why you would reach out
to me after so long, but I am certain that you have
a good reason.
The young lady was confused and surprised by my
approach, but oddly enough not surprised by my
request that she bring the package. I looked forward
to seeing you soon, old friend.
