You knock on the big metal door, and a girl with short blonde hair opens it.

"Hello?"

You hear volleyballs hitting the floor and shoes squeaking against the court.

"Is there someone here with orange hair?" You ask her.

The girl looks confused at first but then smiles. "Oh, you must mean Hinata!"

Hinata? So that's his name.

You nod.

The girl gestures for you to come inside.

There are boys everywhere, six on one side of the net and six on the other.

You're familiar with volleyball because your mom played in high school, so you sort of know what's happening.

And then you see him. Hinata.

He's screaming something, then he jumps-

-and smacks the ball down on the other side.

Holy crap.

He was literally flying.

The blonde girl notices you staring in awe.

"I know right? He's amazing. They all are," she says, "I'm Yachi, by the way."

You smile. "Nice to meet you. Are you the manager?"

"Yeah. But only one of them. That's Kiyoko over there." She points to a pretty girl with dark hair.

"So that's Hinata?" You ask her and point to the boy.

She nods. "Hinata! Someone's here for you!"

The boy called Hinata runs over to you both, wiping sweat off of his forehead.

"Oh! You're that girl from the other day!" He looks at you.

You nod and hand him his bag. "You left this at my house."

You notice he still has the same band-aid on his face. Did he not get a new one?

"Oh! That's why I couldn't find it this morning! Thanks!"

You smile at him. This isn't as awkward as you thought it would be.

"Hey Hinata! Is that your girlfriend?" A guy with a buzz cut shouts.

Nevermind.

Hinata blushes and starts to argue with the guy. He sets his bag down and runs back to the court. 

"Oi Dumbass! Stop messing around and get back here!" A tall boy with dark hair yells.

Yachi giggles. "Are you here to watch?" She asks.

You shake your head. "I just came by to drop off his bag."

"Well, come by anytime. It's nice to have another girl around once in a while." Yachi says to you. 

You wave goodbye and head home, a weird feeling in your chest.

Is it possible...that you have a friend? Yachi was really nice, and so was Hinata. Two friends? 

You smile. That was worth leaving the house for.
