"Can I ask you what brings you by Kakashi," [y/n]'s voice sounded heavenly, it flowed into his ears so blissfully. In his current intoxicated state, he couldn't help but say what is truly on his mind.

"I...just wanted to *hiccup* see you," the room felt as if it was slowly spinning, but somehow he still managed to keep all of his attention on [y/n]. Her cheeks flushed a light red as she finished pouring the both of them coffee.

"It's not like Kakashi Hatake to come visit one of his subordinates," [y/n] chuckled while sprinkling sugar into her dark coffee.

"Y-You aren't my subordinate *hiccup* anymore, even th-though I *hiccup* miss working with you," he sluggishly cupped the steaming cup and dragged it slowly to his lips.

"That's sweet of you say Ka—"

"I-I also m-miss your l-lips," he bluntly slurred, his eyes darted to [y/n]'s mouth. Never did a day go by where he didn't think about the kiss they shared.

[y/n] eyes just continued to widen in shock. She couldn't deny she also daydreamed about that night. Hell, the kiss plays in a loop in her mind every once and a while.

"You're drunk, Kakashi finish your coffee, and you're welcome to sleep on my bed. I'll take the couch," she smiled. Her cheeks tinted red, a red that flowed towards her ears.

"Drunk words are sober thoughts," he mumbled quietly.

"I-I'm going to slip into my pajamas, uh make yourself at home, I-I guess," she pushed herself up and quickly rushed to the bathroom.

Kakashi sat down and ponder, the coffee slowly but surely sobering him up. Should he just leave? Was his presence causing a hindrance to her?

No, all I do is leave. If I leave, now then I'll just end up watching her fall for someone else. He finally realized he couldn't cower from his emotions anymore.

"Kakashi, is there anything—" [y/n] exited the bathroom and was stopped when he quickly stood up for the dinner table.

"I'm—I'm sorry! In the past, I've just been so cruel not only to everyone around me but to you too! I have my problems, and I took out my frustrations on others. But the moments we shared [y/n], those moments are burned into my head. You helped me feel something other than pain! A-And I didn't know how to react, so I ran! I cowered away from your bright light! Because I don't deserve someone like you! But yet when I see you with him, it makes me sick! Because it should be me making you smile! I should be the shoulder you cry on—" his truthful monologue was stopped by the Nara, embracing him into a hug. Kakashi froze at her warm touch, and undeniably feeling of relief washed over him. His arms then wrapped around her waist, pulling her in as deep as he could.

"I can't watch you slip through my fingers, I don't want to lose you like I lost everyone else," his voice flowed with the truth.

"You won't lose me, Kakashi," she whispered gently, her hand ran through his hair gingerly.

Though she was melting into his arms, she was content with having the man she deeply cares for reciprocating the love she felt for him. Yet she couldn't help but few guilty, knowing full well that Itachi was right, and that she still had a bond with their previous captain.

"Liquid courage really helped you out, didn't it?" [y/n] giggled while tilting her head to face his covered one.

"Just a little," he chuckled as his fingers began to pull down his mask. The Nara quickly closed her eyes. She always respected his privacy even if it pained her to miss out on what his face looked like.

"You can keep your eyes open," he gently brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear. He didn't have to tell her twice [y/n]'s eyes shot open, and her mouth nearly dropped open.

"You're the first person I've showed my face to," he blushed, while [y/n]'s hand trailed down his jaw.

"You're even more handsome than I expected," her finger poked his mole.

"You don't have to lie,"

"I'm not lying! You're stun—" he quickly cut her off by placing a kiss on her lips. Taken back [y/n]'s body stiffened, but once her mind registered what was going on, she kissed back just as passionately. Kakashi then cupped her cheeks, which deepened the kiss further, a kiss that deprived both of them of oxygen.

[y/n] slowly pulled away, a small gasp left her lips as she recollected her breathing.

"I've been dying to do that," Kakashi whispered, as he pecked her lips once more.
