Planks

This happened during band camp. For guard, we do some workout things we call PT and one of the things we do is planks. We were talking about having a plank competition on the last day of band camp to see who could hold it the longest. I jokingly said we should do it to bohemian rhapsody, but we ended up doing it to that song. (Of course, none of us could actually hold a plank for 7 minutes, we just wanted to see how long we'd last.)

We were probably 2 minutes into the song and almost everyone dropped, except for the person in front of me (Sis). When she dropped, I immediately dropped and started celebrating because I won. Sike, there was someone else I didn't see. Let's call her Fresh.

Fresh and I got to take a short break, maybe 30 seconds to a minute at most, before our plank-off began. I specifically remember it starting at the part of the song that goes "I see a silhouetto". I'm not sure how long we were at it, but I was physically shaking and my face was probably beet red. I'm trying to cheer myself on by saying "For Jerry" over and over (as in, win it for Jerry). The other guard people were cheering for us as well. I couldn't handle it anymore, so I dropped first (and probably muttered fuck to myself). It stinks to lose to one of the freshman (I'm an upperclassman) but apparently we were almost 5 minutes into the song 😳
