Chapter 18

✨Caroline's POV✨

So apparently Silas is walking around with Elena pretending to be Stefan. "Why would Silas want to hurt her anyway?" i asked Damon. "Because he wants to hurt me," Damon said. "You know, if you just would've told the thruth, all of this could of been avoided," i said. "Gee, thanks Caroline. Your hindsight is invaluable in this situation," he groweld at me as he bumped into a really hot guy. Ugh, there's so many good looking guys around, my ovaries are going to explode. "Watch where you're going, duche. "

"Have you seen Elena Gilbert?" Damon asked him. "I have no idea who that is, and if I were her, I'd probably run from you, too," the guy said pissing Damon off. "Wrong answer, he groweld while grabbing the guy's throat. I step in and compel the guy. "Forget all this and get out of here," I told him. "You need to calm down Damon."

"He turned the entire town into a hunting party for Katherine.  How am I suppose to calm down when every single person here could be working for Silas!?" he yelled at me.

✨Katy's POV✨

How the hell do these things work? I've never used a keg before. All I want is to get drunk and forget about Liam for at least one night. "I got that,"Jesse said taking the cup out of my hands to fill it up with beer. As soon as he gives me my cup I chug it down. "Whoa..."

"Ex drama," I tell him. "Wow. Ex drama and getting kicked out of class...Today's not your day", he chuckled. "What is his deal, anyway?" I asked "Dr. Dickfield?" he said. "Yeah, him,"Elena said coming out of nowhere. "Tell you guys what - help me grab some more firewood, and I will tell you everything you need to know," he told us. Jesse lead us to a well - lit shed. Quickly I find a place for me to sit; which happens to be a wooden table. "I had Dr. Maxfield for a few classes last year. He's a jerk, but he's brilliant, so i give him a pass," Jesse said. "Brilliant and creepy," Elena muttered. "There's a rumor that he's...part of this secret society on campus. Apparently a few times a week, they supposedly meet at Whitmore House. But you didn - ", Damon suddenly vampire runs into the shed and knocks Jesse over the head. "Damon? What the hell?" I screamed. "Seriously? That's Jesse; i kind of liked him," Caroline whined.

✨Katherine's POV✨

I'm cold. Jeremy and Matt have me in the middle of nowhere with only a campfire to keep me warm. Huh, there's a shotgun; I wonder if - "Dont even think about it," Jeremy said snapping me out of my thoughts. "Please, I wouldn't even know how to use it. I've never shot a gun in my life. Didn't need to, I was much more deadly," I said. "Keyword: was," Jeremy says with a smirk. Can he be anymore annoying? I'm actually starting to feel sorry for Elena. "I'm going to get more wood for the fire. I'll be back," Matt said. "I survived childbirth, the death of my entire family, and 5oo years of running from an immortal hybrid. Hope you can understand why I'm a little upset that I'm on the verge of being defeated by a sinus infection," I complained. Why me? Haven't I been through enough? Oh great! The wind decides to start blowing. I rub my hands together trying to keep warm when all of the sudden I feel Jeremy draping a blanket over my shoulders leaving me feeling more than surprised. I mean I've neve -

"Jeremy run!" Was that Matt? Jeremy grabs my hand and we start running. Haven't I've done more than enough running all my life? We keep on running until we reach the truck; Jeremy tosses me the keys. What? "Get in the truck and drive," he says No he can't leave me! "Where are you going?!?" I asked him feeling panicked. "I can't leave Matt."

"Jeremy. How do you think i survived 500 years? It wasn't because I was a vampire. It's because I never looked back. Don't be dumb, survive," I tell him. "That's why people treat you like an object and not like a person," he says before taking off in a run. Is he right? I mean i've been alive for over 5oo years and Im all alone, i don't have any friends. My daughter hates me because I abandoned her when she was just a toddler but it was the right thing to do, i was protecting her. If I had gotten caught, she would of been killed right along with me. I care about Katy, but we are just never going to have a loving mother and daughter relationship; she's a doppelganger. I can't believe I'm about to do this but i'm going back. What? Little Gilbert has grown to me. As I run back to the campfire i grab one of the shot guns only to hear Jeremy groan in pain. I run in the direction i hear the noise coming from only to see Silas raising a hatchet, Jeremy crouched on all fours, and a passed out Matt. I shot Silas without aiming but lucky me; i got him. "I thought you didn't know how to use that," Jeremy says. "Well I figured it out," i said while sjooting Silas again.
