I am a fighter

I could've taken a cab, I didn't want the driver to think I'm a crackhead. I look like I am crazy. My eyes were bloodshot. Tears streamed down my face and I was carrying my life in two duffle bags.

I made it to a motel around the training centre.

"Hi, I would like one room for three nights," I tell the receptionist.

"That'll be 210 dollars." She tells me.

I give her the money.

"Name?" She asked filling out a form.

"Isabella Jackson."

"Like the gold medalist?"

I'm not in the mood to deal with a fan.

I shake my head side to side.

"Oh...Well, here you are, Miss Jackson." She gives me my key and room number.

I reach the room... "great 32." I read the door.

I get in and let my walls fall. I don't cry easily. I am a wreck and I am probably insane. But I begin to laugh.

Isn't the best way to break pain laughter?

Amarion and I had been together for 9 years, since junior year of high school. Now all of that was over.

We are both athletes. We both do track and field.

We were both given the opportunity to train for the Olympics. He does the decathlon and I do heptathlon.

At the age of 20, I was qualified for the Olympics. Two years later I went to Rio. I didn't win any events, but it was a great experience. So I trained harder.

Last year both Amarion and I went to the Olympics.

We both came home with gold medals.

I racked up a total of 6810 points.

While Amarion totalled 8893 points.

He betrayed me. I am done crying about it. I am a fighter.

And he started the war.
