Walls.
Not every wall cracks
And not every crack breaks a wall
Some walls stand
Despite infinite cracks
Wearing that spiderweb badge
Of triumph over the trials of Time
Yet it isn't all Time's doing
It's also the elements
Of life and the non-
Temperature and moisture
Each creature's adventure
Of curiosity or for food a venture
Sometimes it happens unintentional
Like that rhyme you just passed by
Probably not noticing grammar
Like the very personification of time
But the time you dropped your phone with a now shattered screen
The accidental also leaves a mark
Maybe it isn't intentional
When some people hurt or are rude
Maybe they thought it best
Maybe they had no choice
Maybe they didn't mean it
But they still didn't check twice
A pain deflecting second thought
Something you should have spared
Right before you came off so rude
Or because of your very assumptions
And stereotypes and generalizations
You thought too high of yourself and
Forget the final spellcheck
If everyone were judged on flaws
Of some remotely related other
Imagine the caveman thoughts
The world wouldn't be this way
Yet that line of thought hasn't left
The minds, of sadly, more than few
If someone hates on you directly
Pulls at you for something done by
One you have only one thing
In common with more or less
Remember that they aren't worth you
You aren't just like them
You are you
If they were right
We would have a billion "star"s
And not each one represented
By a billion digits in code
We can't perfect the world
So perfect yourself
It needn't be your fault
To them they're right
Some people may apologise though
Take that with a grain of salt
One angel told me I should watch
Make sure their actions back it up
And I realized it didn't in all cases
To some it's so natural
They apologise for you being hurt
They don't adsorb and remodel
Not even a teeny bit
If it is some stranger
You needn't pause a moment more.
Few told me that I tolerated much to keep my word and that to save myself was necessary, but I found it so hard; I haven't done it 100%; one made me how I am now and I could take some real mean comment in rn...
