Opening my eyes I realize I'm alone in my bed. Dave must have left early this morning or after I fell asleep which he normally does
Looking at the time I see it's only 10 so I have plenty of time before Dave picks me up at 5.
I already called in sick for work and Donna, the nice old lady who owns the bakery gave me Sunday off as well.
Once I told Dave he insisted on me staying the night at his house.
Deciding to start getting my self ready because it takes me a while to get dress, do my hair and makeup.
I go and take a shower, shaving and washing my hair.
I comb out my curly hair, blow dry it, then straighten it. Once I'm done I braid my hair in a few big braids to give my hair some waves after I take them out. Then I put on my bonet
"Hey mama" I walk up stairs seeing her looking in a new paper
"Hey baby" she says not looking up.
"Where's daddy?" I say looking around
"Went somewhere early probably won't be back till late tonight." She looks up
"Oh" I don't really know what to tell my mom.
Do I lie? Do I tell her the truth?
"I'm going on a date later" I decided to tell her the truth.
"Yeah?" She grins "with who?" She ask
I think about it for a moment. I tell my mom everything and if I tell her to keep it a secret, will she?
"If I tell you, you can't tell Shane" I say sitting down next to her
"Please I'm not no gossiper" she says with attitude
"Okay" I laugh "East is my boyfriend and he's taking me out on a date" I say in one breathe
Her eyes widen "East? Dave East?"
"Yeah" I say looking down and she immediately burst out in laughter
"Girl you're so brave" she grabs my hand.
"You're not going to tell him right?" I ask still worried
"Of course not. You tell him when your ready. But you should tell him soon if y'all are getting serious" she looks at me
"Yeah I know mama. Do you like Dave?" I ask
"Oh of course! He's so polite and I think he's great for you" she gushes
Whenever Dave comes over he always offers to help my mom whenever he can.
