SABREEN

It's been a month and I haven't seen mama, I wanted to go greet mama several times but Amir kept refusing saying he doesn't want aunty to see.
I told him I can't keep hiding from her and we almost fought,that or,should I say he got angry and left the house that day he didn't eat anything.
The next day I apologize and promised not to talk about it again.

I was sitting inside my office when my PA came in.

"Khadijah...I called.

"Ma'am...someone dropped this for you; she said.

"Okay I said taking the paper.

"I will take my leave...she said.

"Oh thank you khadijah I said opening the paper.

"AM WARNING YOU LEAVE BEFORE I MAKE YOU".

I read it over and over again I was really confused who could have sent this??

"is this some kind of prank or what?? I asked myself.
I spent the rest of the day thinking about the note who could it be?, its just so confusing.

"Sabreen!!!! Amir shouted my name.

"Yes...

"What are you thinking about I have been calling, are you okay?? He asked.

"Ye..ah am fine nothing is wr..ong with me;
I stammered.

"No you're not...

"Am telling you Amir I'm fine,maybe I'm stressed because of work...I.. umm..am going upstairs am sleepy,goodnight I said walking upstairs.

I have been receiving this weird notes for almost three weeks now, at first I wasn't scared but I am freaking out now.
I don't know who has been sending those threatening notes, it's almost like the person is stalking me, he or she knows when I am home or when i am at work.

"Sabreen are you okay?? Amir asked sitting beside me on the bed.

"Yes...why?? I asked.

"I noticed you have been acting strangely this days you barely eat,talk you go to sleep early,what is wrong with you?? remember am your husband and you could tell me anything.

Yes Amir was right,someone has been threatening me and I didn't inform my husband about it.
I made up my mind that i was going to tell him.

"I...uh...I have b...I was saying but his phone started ringing he rejected it and asked me to continue but it started ringing again.

"You should pick it maybe it's important;I said.

No I shouldn't tell Amir, he's going to get worried...I am just not going to tell him.

"So you were saying??

"Ummm... I think am just stressed because of work but I will be okay I said faking a smile.

"Are you sure?? He asked and I nodded.

"Okay then...

I was in the kitchen making dinner when Amir came in with my phone ringing.

"Who is it?? I asked.

"I don't know,it's a number he said walking out.

"Hello ".

"How are you doing?? The person asked, it's was a Male voice.

After hesitating if I should end the call or continue I decided to continue "who is this please?? I asked.

"Ouch!!! It hurts that you don't know me, he said.

"I don't...was the only thing that came out of my mouth.

"You might not know me but you know my morning letters right?? He asked making me freeze, ya Allah...

"Why are you quite?? Oh and I'm sorry for sending them like that without a bouquet of flowers I am not that romantic and besides I don't know any shop that I will get them from; he said making me flinched.

"Please who are you?? What do you want?? Why are you disturbing me?? I asked trying to sound strong.

"Easy sabreen, nothing much I just want you to quietly leave that house and never return, and if you return or refuse to go then I will surely kill your husband,you have one week. He said making the tear I was holding in fall.

"No!! Please...I was saying but he ended the call.

I tried calling him again but the line was switched off.

I fell to the floor and was crying,my tears falling like stream.

"Ya Allah please hel...p me please, I don't know who this is and why his doing this to me please show me a way, save me ya Allah. I said sobbing hugging my legs.

Amir walked in and was asking me something but immediately he saw me he knelt down beside me asking me what was wrong.

"Amir please promise you won't ever leave me please... I said hugging him.

"Sabreen what's wrong??

"Just please promise me??? I asked again and he nodded.

I kept crying until I can no longer feel my voice, I was really scared, I felt like I was selfish for asking Amir to promise not to leave me, his life was in danger all because of me, the person said I have one week to leave this house or he is going to kill Amir.

"My life is a mess, I just wanna die, I'm tired of this life". I said to Amir.

"Shhhhhh... don't say that, whatever it is, I promise it's gonna be okay,with hardship comes ease he said still hugging me.

I nodded even though I don't think everything is going to be okay, Amir doesn't know about anything.

My eyes started closing on their own. If I stay Amir dies, but if I leave he is going to be okay. I can't let Amir die because of me, he loved me when I had no one but I God so I made my final decision; I was going to leave amir never to be seen again . I said to myself before finally closing my eyes to sleep.
