"let me go take a shower he said and I nodded getting up.

The breeze kept on lifting the curtain making the sun shine directly on my face.

"Arrrrrggggg I groaned before getting up.

I thank Allah for letting me see another day, another year of my life....yes today is my birthday I am 21 I murmured and falling back into my pillow again with the duvet in my hands covering me.

"I am getting old and lazy at the same time I said to no one in the room.

"Mama,baba,your daughter is 21 today, I miss nabila I will have been drenched by now if she was alive, she always sprayed me early in the morning with water on my birthday's.

I hear the door opening and my eyes went wide open.
Amir left for work, and no one is home except me,who could it be?a kidnapper? thief? many things going through my mind.

I heard footsteps coming closer but then it stopped,I can feel someone standing near my bed.
Suddenly the duvet was taken away and I got up screaming and shouting please don't kill me I just turned 21 today.

"Hey sabreen it's me I hear amir's voice so I quickly open my eyes I didn't even know I was closing them.

"What...what are you doing here?? I thought you left for work??? I asked panting heavily.

"Woah... easy, one question at a time mi lady; he said chuckling.

"You scared me to death wallahi... I said
sitting down.

"Yeah that's why you were screaming don't kill me I just turn 21 he said trying to mimic my voice.

"It's not my fault I thought you left for work and I was the only one at home so I thought it was somebody else, maybe a kidnapper or a thief I said rolling my eyes.

"Ehmmm... and I've never seen someone telling their kidnapper or a thief they just turn 21 today. He said laughing .

"Why didn't you go to work??? I asked.

"Because I needed some break,besides today is my wife's birthday he said and I just looked at him in disbelief.

"Happy birthday mi amor, wish to spend more happy birthdays with you he said hugging me.

"Thank you babe I reply.

"Go take your bath and eat breakfast I have something for you. He said smiling.

"Really!!! What's that?? I asked.

"Ummmm... I don't know it's a surprise he said and I quickly walked into the bathroom.

After I was done eating the breakfast Amir prepared, he blindfold me and held me by my shoulders walking me to God knows where.

"Are you sure I can trust you?? Because this is getting creepy I said.

"Don't worry babe, we're here he said removing the blindfold and I opened my eyes only to find us in the garage.

"Sooooo... what are we doing here?? Where is the surprise?? I asked looking at him.

"Here!! He said giving me a small pink box.
I collected it, opened the box and found a key,it looks like a car key.

"Amirr what... I was saying but he stopped me and showed me a car saying it's mine.

"So this was the present?? I asked still looking at the car.

"Yes... you don't like it... he was saying but I cut him.

"Yes I don't like it...but love it I said smiling with tears in my eyes.

"Then why are you crying?? Amir asked worried.

"Because am happy, am happy that despite who I am, knowing my past,you still married me and...mama,ummah...Haifa.. all of you cared for me and now this ...I don't even know how to drive why do you keep...I was crying but Amir shut me.

"I thought I said the past should be left behind let's just focus on the future and don't worry I will teach you how to drive starting tomorrow he said.

"But Amir...I was saying when he kissed me making shut up.

"No buts sabreen... just okay; he said when he broke the kiss and I hugged him.

"Thank you and I love you.
