1992-1993

"Harry! Harry why must you always get into these situations??" Lily asked as she pulled her son into a tight hug

Harry gently pushed her away, "mum I'm fine"

Lily ignore the pain in her heart seeing Harry push her away, he really was growing up

"Harry you nearly died!"

"Mum I'm really okay I promise" Harry smiled

"See you next year Harry!"

Harry turned and smiled seeing it was Ginny, he waved softly at her and then walked after his parents smiling longingly down at his feet as he went

James grinned a little recalling how Harry had arrived to the school this year, in a flying car...he couldn't say that he was mad because in all honestly he was proud

"Did you break any more rules kiddo?"

"Of course he did James, he brewed a pollyjuice potion, broke into a chamber, used that damned cloak, and almost died again!"

Harry rolled his eyes, "Mum I'm alright okay?"

"Hey Harry so...it's true you can speak to snakes huh?"

Harry nodded, "b-but I'm not bad I promise—"

James grinned and whispered to Harry, "mind speaking to your mum for me and tell her not to be mad at me?"

Harry laughed meanwhile Lily punched James' arm

"Alright alright I'm sorry Geez"

Harry giggled and walked along with his parents

When they got home they all sat down for dinner, "so Harry, has anything changed with professor snivelus?"

Harry chuckled, "no he's still greasy—"

"Harry" Lily snapped shooting him a stern look

Harry grumbled, "he hates me...and for no reason! I don't know how you're friends with him Mum"

"It must be you sweetheart, I know you don't like being told what to do. Severus is one of the most kindhearted people I know"

James snorted and nudged Harry's arm who rolled his eyes

Lily had to admit she was bitter that the two of them had become so close in a way she couldn't understand, James had seen Harry as little as her though Harry seemed to be bonded much more to his father

"Harry, I know this isn't all your fault but...can you please try to have a normal year of school next year? Please don't go looking for trouble"

Harry sighed, "It's not like I try to get into trouble and if I hadn't gone 'looking' then Hogwarts would've closed and Ginny would've been dead"

Harry's cheeks reddened at the mention of his friend's younger sister, something which both his parents noticed but remained silent about

James patted his son's back, "regardless Harry I'm proud of you...you were very brave once again and well, we're very lucky to call you our son"

Harry nodded, "thanks but it wasn't really much of anything...just luck"

James chuckled, luckily his son had not inherited his large ego and immense confidence

Harry yawned, "I'm going to bed" he said after a while, "I'm glad to be home" he said as he walked up to bed

Leaving his parents alone to discuss what had been burning on both of their minds

"Do you really think we should send him back next year James? Look what's happened his first two years!"

James rolled his eyes, "honey he's fine...and he'd never allow us to not let him go, he'd resent us forever"

Lily sighed, "I guess...but James he almost died"

"Honey Harry has proven that he's pretty tough...he'll be fine and besides I think Remus is going to teach next year"

Lily smiled softly, "it's about time...gosh that'd be great for Harry"

James nodded and smiled, "what do you think? Harry and Ginny?"

Lily laughed, "oh James he's only twelve..."

"That's enough, I knew i liked you when I was eleven"

Lily giggled, "oh James, well if he does that's great..."

James chuckled, "it's kinda funny huh? She resembles you quite a lot"

Lily rolled her eyes, "James let's just stop, it's none of our business"

James chuckled, "it'll be our business when they get married"

Lily smacked his arm
