One Star

When the shadows sneak past the fading sun
Elongated streaks of darkness bond to form the night ether

When the aging sun
Digs deep into its grave of darkness
Buried by the pixie dust of a trillion faded stars

When the pixie dust of ancient stars is pixelated beautifully in space.
And soft smoky clouds hang around the night atmospheres
And there's nothing to see above
Not the moon or the stars

When the night skies are empty of light
And the ground below is dim without fire

One star beats the odds and starts to shine even though the clouds
Shining through the fogs
Spreading hope with its twinkly shimmering beams

Blinking and winking at the same time
Its sound can be heard,
Although it's a silent chime

When one star is all that is left with
In the world, length, height, depth, and width
The world is reminded of a spark
That is within everyone's heart.
