Stiles was laying in bed trying to not think about the past things he's done. He didn't know why he couldn't get over it. His window opened, scaring him to the point of falling off the bed. In a matter of seconds he's in someone's arms.
"Stiles? Are you ok? What happened?" Derek's voice reached Stile's ears.
"I'm ok." Stiles breathed. In all honestly Stiles felt like shit and having Derek around has been helping so much.
Derek had been coming over every night that month to help Stiles cope and shit. Now Stiles has a slight crush on him and was afraid of scaring away the only person who has been able to help him.
"Stiles please don't lie to me." Derek pleaded.
Stiles took a shaky breath and cuddled into Derek's side. "I'm scared Derek. What if I hurt more people? How can we be sure the nogitsune is really gone?"
"Stiles it's ok. The Nogitsune is gone. I won't let him hurt my mate again!" Derek was so worked up that he didn't noticed what he said.
Stiles however felt heartbroken. Derek has a mate. And while he was the nogitsune he had hurt her. How does he not hate me? "M-mate? W-who is s-she?"
Derek furrows his eyebrows, "she? Stiles what are you talking about?"
Stiles's eyes widened. The last time someone said something like that he got beat until he couldn't walk, "I-I'm sorry! I-I-I d-didn't mean to assume! P-please d-don't hurt me!"
Derek's wolf whines at how scared their mate sounded. "Stiles I'm not going to hurt you. I don't care that you assumed my mate was female."
"W-who are t-they?"
Derek took a huge breath, "ok don't freak out but uhh you're kinda my mate."
Stiles froze. No way. There was no way that was possible. Why would someone want some freak like him? "This is a joke right?"
Derek winced because he thought that Stiles didn't want him. "No, it's not a joke but I totally understand if you don't accept me." He whispered.
Stiles smiled and hugged Derek tightly, "of course I accept you! I just didn't think someone like you would want someone as broken as me."
"Well I think you're perfect. I will always want you."
