Chapter Fourty-family

Start from the beginning

"But my soon to be husband bought three books for me from the Hlumo series. I got inspired by her writing and having my lover sticking by my side made me work hard. So here I am today," I smirk.

The audience claps.

My uncle might be watching this and by me revealing that I was being abused, might as well just have triggered something dangerous.

He is a well known man and now most of his friends and investors will question him.
I don't regret saying that though, it is the pure truth.

I'm relieved when the interview is finally over, I can finally get a breather.

I sign and give out some of the novels for free.

Now I'm comfortably sitted in the car seat, ready to head home.

"You did great baby," he kisses my cheek.

I smile. "You made it happen for me. Thanks, Love."

"Love," Mpendulo yells at his daddy.

"He doesn't even know what love means," Lethu shakes her head.

"And what do you know about love, young lady?" I turn back and stare at her.

"Hao, mama, Alot. You and daddy are a perfect example," she shrugs.

I'm defeated.

"I'm glad you know that, babygirl. But I better not see you with any boy," Nathi jokes.

I gasp and hit his shoulder playfully. What boy? Lethu isn't a teenager as yet, it really is to early for these kind of threats.

Apperantely we're not going back to our house, but straight to my home and I don't even know why

He said something about having a mini braai for me.

Why didn't we just do it at our place?

We're welcomed by my family and Nathi's family. Their all dancing and ululating as I approach.

This is a surprise.

"Oh my granddaughter. I'm so proud of you," gogo pinches both of my cheeks. "Your mother would have been proud," she adds.

"Thanks gogo. You guys made this happen, without you guys, I'm nothing."

I go on to greet the familair faces, thanking them for their support.

Through the sliding door, I catch a glimpse of Nathi and his three brothers. They laugh and joke while they all hold a beer in their hands. Its a nice sight to watch and I'm way happy to see them getting along great.

My ladies made a mini bonfire at the yard and nothing is as amazing as seeing everyone  happy.

"But really Busisiwe, we're all just proud of you," Enhle mutters.

"True. After everything you've been through, this is the beginning of your accomplishments. Shine girl," khanyi uluates loudly.

These girls will make me cry.

"Thank you so much girls!"

I share a tear. Thinking of how I've been suffering for eleven years, finally I'm happy and my dreams are coming to life.

Three years of knowing these amazing souls has been a bliss. I'm fianlly happy, even though they'll be ups and downs, I'm finally proud to say, It gets better with time.

Both our families unite into one and that is the cherry on top. I have found what I have been missing and now I'm a whole person, because of them and their unconditional love.

"Can I steal my woman," Nathi interrupts.

"Don't you get enough of her Nathi?" Khanyi utters with irritation.

Everytime when Nathi makes his presences known, the girls all go dead quiet. I don't even comprehend why but its hilarious.

"Nope. She's irresistible," he smirks.

You can see how annoyed Khanyi is. It's understandable since we no longer spend some quality time together.

"I did mention you look beautiful, right?"

We stand side by side at the gerden and we both watch everyone having the time of their lives, celebrating my success.

"Yes. I even lost count," I roll my eyes.

He chuckles and moves behind me then his big arms settle perfectly around my neck and balances with my shoulders. I inhale his scent deeply and goosebumps start to form inside my stomach, giving me unnecessary butterflies.

Why does he have to make me feel this way? I can't even control my thoughts even when we're surround by people.

"Their beautiful aren't they?"

Questionably I follow his glance and blush drastically when I lay eyes on Mpendulo who is chasing his sister, inclduing his cousins with a stick.

This little guy is a real troublesome.

"Yes! They're very beautiful, including that littling guy who thinks his the boss," I shake my head.

"He is the boss. But I smell trouble in the future," he chuckles.

We're both on the same page with that one.

"You know, sthandwa, without you, I wonder where I would have been right now."
His hot breath hits my sensetive skin while his voice echos deeply into my ear.

I wonder where I would have been without him.

"You'd probably be fucking around and by now you'd be having 10 children from different mothers," I joke.

"That would not be a problem," he grins.

"Nathi," I groan.

"You do realise we've been together for three years," he whispers.

Years do really speed up.

"Yes. And we still counting," I spine around and circle my arms around his neck and I stare at him intensively.

"You are mine. Never forget that Busi," he pecks my lips.

I love how meaningful his words are and that hint of seriousness blows me off insanely.

Its kind of inappropriate that I want more of him.

Ma Nonkosi bursts our little bubble by beckoning that I come to her.

"Ma?" I question when she hands me her phone.

A weird small smile creeps on my lips.

"Is this really legit?" I question curiously.

"Yes, it is," a bold voice responds.

Ah, bab Steve.

The headline of the article reads "Mandla Gwala, the owner of the biggest well known law firm has been admitted to hospital after he had seen the T.V interview of his niece!"

This must have had him stunned, that fianlly the little girl who has no back bone has revealed the truth about her state of living.

Even though I didn't say much about my background, I'm well known by his friends and business associates and they'll start questioning him, which will definitely not be good for business and his image ofcourse.
I'm sure they've asked him where I've been and I wonder what excuse he came up with.

I find Nathi's glance and he frowns. His phone wrapped around his hand and I just know he's just read a small piece of the article.

I shrug. He must think I'm not good but I'm perfectly fine.

Bit by bit, people will know what that monster is capable of behind close doors.
