"Someone is in need of seeing you," Nathi peeps at the door of our bedroom.

He looks so flushed, his eyes begging I forgive him, pleading I speak with him, but I want none of that. He failed to keep his promise, he couldn't protect me from his brother.

So how will he protect me again if ever my uncle decides to attack again?

It's been three drainful days since I've got discharged. I've been giving everyone the silent treatment. I just need to be alone with myself and thoughts.

Everything that has transpired weights on me and the burning ache inside of my chest is just so unbearable. Everything hurts.

Nathi just makes me wanna puke, so I suggested he uses the guestroom for now. Of course he didn't just agree with my suggestion that easily, but then he realised fighting me on this was just a waste of time, so nigguh gave in.

It wasn't his fault.
I know, but who should I blame for this? When the man I deeply love failed to fufil his promise.

It still isn't his fault.
Booldy conscience.

I glance at him, wondering who's here for me since I specifically informed everyone to leave me in peace.

"Mommy," she yells and runs up to me and hugs me tightly.

Thank God I'm all freshen up, I wouldn't want her to witness seeing me all depressed.

"Oh goodness, my baby. You look pretty," I smile and peck her tiny lips.

My throat is dry and my voice husky, so I literally sound horrible but I did say I've been quiet ever since I've got home.

"I'll give you guys some privacy," he waits for my responds but I ignore him.

"I miss you, Lele," I share a tear.

At this very moment, she's my only comfort and peace. I'd never turn my back on her, she's just an innocent child who knows nothing about this torturous situation.

"And you look horrible, mom. I don't like seeing you sick," she frowns.

Such disrespect, but that makes me giggle instead.

"I know, maybe you can take care of mommy since you're here?" I suggest.

"Piece of cake. I'll treat you goodie, since I bunked school just to come see you," she smiles.

How old is she again? Oh yeah, ten, just a ten year old trapped in a 16 year old mind. If that even makes sense.

"You bunked," I pretend to be shocked.

"Relax mom, it's not a big deal," she rolls her eyes.
"Now come, lets go make food for my brother," she gently holds my arm up and beckons I follow her.

I am actually hungry.

"It's a girl, Lethu," I sulk.

Nathi is brainwashing my poor baby.

"That's not what daddy told me," she causally shrugs.

"You and your dad are driving me crazy," I utter and slip on my comfortable sleepers.

Time to go face reality.

"But you still looooovvvvvveeeee us," she grins.

This child.
Atleast she's distracting me to not over think.
