❖ Burden | Kento Nanami

You have been an assistant for some powerful shamans since you were found by the principal of Tokyo Technical College. You didn't really hated your Job, especially when your line of work is literally being a sidekick for the other shaman. You are just thankful for having a consistent work to provide your own needs.

It has been quite a while since you have been assigned to a very intelligent and reserved man who at first appears to be someone who is just very serious about his work. Kento Nanami.

Just by saying his name you are already shaking from nervousity. Whenever he has a mission that you need to guide and support him to, you just have been a big burden to him. You always appear suddenly out of nowhere and do something stupid where in the end, he always come to the rescue.

It was very hard for you to apologize to him in every mission, so you always observe his actions to have a chance to talk to him, but that just made you fall in love with the serious yet wonderful man.

Loving him became your greatest secret, that made your actions became weirder as usual. You always plan to confess to him; But apologizing and talking to him face to face made your stomach ache; What more when you confess your love?

A mission came to you suddenly that made you and Nanami along with Yuji investigate the theater incident. Since you're one of the assistants who knows that Yuji is alive at that time, you can freely see the lively brat. Your eyes led you to find Nanami teach Yuji to see remnants and some of his techniques, making you smile widely behind.

Suddenly, Nanami notices that something's wrong with the Cursed Spirits. So you started helping by continuing investigating the case. You know Nanami already knows where to find the culprit's location, that's why he sent Yuji away for other task.

"I'll go with you Nanami-san, I'll call Ijichi-san to guide Yuj-", you said. You knew that this would be an intense fight, especially if Nanami gets this serious. But you were only cut off by him "No, this battle isn't a joke, so stop messing around, you know you'll just be a burden. You always have been."

His words echoed in your ears, making you feel your heart to shatter into pieces. You know you have always been a burden to the man and you always tried to help him, but things aren't really going on your way. Nevertheless, you are more consumed by your worry and you didn't want him to get in danger, so you followed him secretly.

You were far behind Nanami to the sewers, and you watched him and Mahito, a curse, as they fight against each other. You were trying to find the right time to help Nanami, but you only saw him to be seriously wounded.

"Nanami!", you can't stop yourself calling out his name. You immediately ran towards him and put on your curse shield for him to rest for a while. He wasn't surprised to see you here, especially knowing your character. But he was surprised to see you gathered up your courage to fight beside him.

You used the cursed dolls the Principal gave you to fight against Mahito for a while but you were failing. The dolls were getting beat up, and Nanami continued fighting. You put in most of your shield to Nanami, that results Mahito to pass through your own shield and pull your legs towards him by his human puppets.

Mahito decides to kill you first as he looked down on you, but you easily get out of their grip and immediately put on your shield. Nanami was about to come to your side, when your barrier is once again, broken. Mahito made himself as a sharp, spiky needle like body, and peirced through your stomach. He decided to kill you slowly as Nanami watches you, and he threw you over the wall that made you shriek from pain.

You moved all your energy to Nanami's blunt sword to strengthen his power, even for a while. Blood came running out of your mouth as he ran towards you worriedly, but was stopped by Mahito and fought Nanami.

"Aww... Look at that pesky little girl, she'll die from thinking she'll save you", Mahito mocked you as he fight with Nanami, but you didn't mind what he said. You're satisfied, just by helping Nanami, even once.

"I'm sorry for being a burden Nanami-san... Please don't worry about me, It's okay... ", you look at him and smiled widely. You were trying to be positive as you always are but you can't stop your eyes to get watery.

"I love you", you flashed your smile to him as you made an 'It's okay' signal to your hands before you lose consciousness. Your vision and strength are all gone but you can still hear what is happening.

When Nanami saw you faint, he completely lose his cool but still acts calmly. Nanami wraps his tie around his hand then uses his technique on a wall, so that a large amount of rubble falls on top of them. As Mahito watches the rubble, Nanami uses his technique on Mahito and immediately went to you while Mahito is not yet moving.

He rush to your side and carried you in his arms. He carrased your face and put the strands of your hair behind your ear. "You really are a burden... So, I can't lose you... Please don't die (Y/N)..."

When you heard those words, you subconsciously smile and felt him to be completely in his hands, where you felt in peace than ever, making you finally get to be entirely unconscious.

Days has passed where it seemed like a blink of an eye, you finally woke up and immediately stood up very lively in a hospital bed at the school. You were confused at first why you were inside the room, and finally remembered everything that happened. Especially when you remember your embarrassing confession in the most wrong timing place in the whole world.

You covered your whole face from embarrassment with what you did, when suddenly, you saw someone in the corner of your eyes. And that someone is the one and only, Kento Nanami. Sleeping still on the chair with his book in his hands.

You started panicking, when you saw him sleeping inside the same room you are in, while wearing a hospital gown. You tried to calm down for a moment and started staring closely to his sleeping face, without his glasses, which made you flash a smile and daydream for a bit.

"Wha~ he's more handsome upclose... I really love him so much", you said and immediately slap your face from your thoughts. You murmured to yourself that you need to be quiet and go change as you turn away, but you suddenly felt large hands that pulled your wrist into himself, making you face his face very much closely.

"Uh-uhmm... Wait... You're awake?!", You stuttered while you can feel your face heat up from embarrassment. "Who wouldn't wake up when you're that noisy?", he reached out his glasses and wear it. You immediately apologized but he unexpectedly pulled you in a hug.

He didn't say any word as he hugged you tightly that you think you're about to suffocate. He seemed to notice it and went to apologize. "I'm glad you're safe.", he said in a soft tone that made you naturally blush.

He explained that it has already been days since the fight, and they managed to beat Mahito but he managed to get out. He instructed you to go change and immediately come to him, knowing that you have fully recovered. He was about to go out of the room when he stopped at his steps.

"Oh and be fast, we need to go somewhere for our date".

"Ah we have another missi- wait what?! A date?! W-w-wait, what do you mean?!". You stutter greatly as your face became redder than it was before.

"You confessed to me last time, so we're together now", he said and went outside as he walked calmly.

"Hey wait! You need to explain everything to me!", You fastly change your clothes and run towards Nanami. Your heart was already beating fast but he just pumped it faster when he made a smile thay you've only seen once in a blue moon.

The only thing that you can think of is ' I really love that guy'.
