Izila Franklin strode down the empty hallway, leaving the guards outside. The old lab base became illuminated by the flames in her palms as she stopped in the doorway.

Equipment lay neatly on the tables and shelves, perfectly in place as if the lab had been abandoned just the other day. Under the layer of dust, Izila could make out the larger tools, but those didn’t matter to her. She could buy twenty of each.

What she really wanted was farther into the facility. Moving past flasks and beakers filled with other serums, microscopes calibrated to see split DNA, and files upon files of experiments, she strode to the E section. A hum of malicious glee escaped her as she pulled out the one she was searching for.

Experiment 97: Elementals

Izila jumped as a hard thump echoed through the lab. She turned to the wall it had come from, and made out a door, nearly completely concealed by dust. She walked slowly over, steps long and careful. Lifting a glove hand, she pushed off the cobwebs to reveal faded lettering. And Izila smiled. A cold, sickening smile.
