Y/N POV:
After maybe an hour of flying, the sun is halfway up the horizon and we land on a island made of rocks.
We dismount our dragons and I stretch.
-Oh my gods, that was a tiring flight, I say and d/n buffs into my back. I giggle and reach into the side bags of the saddle and give them some treat, making them growl happily and waddle away. Hiccup laughs and pets Toothless.
-So, what's the plan chief? I ask and Hiccup asks Toothless to light a big fire.
-I hope it's better than your first, I grin. Hiccup groans.
-Do you have to bring that up? He asks.
-Yes. Yes I do, I say and warm my cold hands over the fire, before putting on the gloves to the suit. Hiccup nods as a sarcastic 'thank you'.
-So, we start by testing the different parts of the suit, before doing a full body test, Hiccup says. I nod.
-Alright... wouldn't be too hard, right? I ask.

And boy was I wrong. It took Hiccup 2 hours to even get my foot into the flame. The arms were easy. Already burned one arm, what could go wrong? Well... turned out that arms were easier to let go of them your legs.
-C'mon Y/N! You just need to step into the fire! Hiccup urges me.
-No! Nope! I already burned my arm Hiccup, I'm not loosing my foot like you did! I refuse! I yell at him.
-C'mon Y/N! Get down! Hiccup says. Oh yeah, right, I forgot to tell you. I climbed up a tree to avoid putting my leg in the fire.
-No! I say and grab onto the tree trunk.

Hiccup had to ask d/n to pry me off of the tree trunk. She started to drag on my foot.
-No! Hiccup! I'm not loosing my foot! Not like you! If I were to loose it, it would be in a dragon trap, like a hero! I say as I finally get dragged off of the tree and up into the air. I pout as d/n puts me down on the ground carefully and stands in the way of any accesible trees. Toothless and Hiccup looks expectantly at me. I sigh.
-Alright, Alright... but if I loose my foot, I'm not going to stop Eret this time! I warn. Hiccup smiles amusingly and I look to the fire. I look at the fire an take a step in. I don't feel any heat, whatsoever. I look at Hiccup who looks surprised at me. I then take another step in and jump onto the glowing hot stone beneath me. I laugh as I just jump up and down, not even close to burning.
-It works! It works! I laugh as I step out of the fire. Hiccup smiles.
-I knew it did! Now, just one more surprise, Hiccup turns to the bags on his saddle and takes something out of it. I walk closer out of curiosity. Hiccup turns back around with a helmet that looks like his old one. It's adorned with d/n's scales. They buff me out of the way and gurgles curiously as she sniffs it. They look at me as I gape and receive the helmet from Hiccup. I laugh in disbelief.
-What.... Hiccup... I say amazed. D/N buffs me again.
-It's your old scales, I say and hold out the helmet for them to sniff again. When they're done sniffing, I touch the scales.
-Wow.... I say amazed and laugh again.
-Try it... Hiccup says and points to the fire. I turn and look at the fire. Then down at the helmet in my hands. I carefully put it on. It fits perfectly into my head and I can see clearly through the eye slot Hiccup made. I clench my fists and feel my palms get sweaty.
I take deep breaths as I feel my heart thump loudly in my chest. Everything could go wrong today... everything could go right... but I wouldn't know if I didn't make this jump. I prepare my stance. I stretch my neck both ways before staring into the fire. I remember the burning sensation on my arm and it itches. I shake the feeling off.
I sigh deeply, before jumping head first through the fire. It felt like my whole life passed by me as I land with a summersault. I look shocked behind me as I hear Hiccup cheer. I stand up and turn around slowly.
-That... I say and put a finger up into the air.
-Was awesome, I finish as I feel my legs give out and the world turns black.

Later:
When Hiccup finally got me on my feet again, he gave me something to eat and almost couldn't get me to stop jumping out of excitement.
-This has been the greatest day ever! I shout as we ride home. The sun has begun fallen back down towards the horizon again, but it's not sunset just yet. Hiccup smiles.
-It has? He asks. I nod quickly as I spot the metallic gates again.
-And now we're home... home sweet home, I say.
- I can't wait to tell Eret about today, I say happily and lean back on the saddle.
-Of course you can't, Hiccup says and smirks at me. I feel my face heating up as I look at him.
'Damn it.... he saw the kiss...'
-Shut up, or I'll tell Astrid about- okay! Okay! Hiccup interrupts me and it is now my time to grin at him as he turns red.
-You should really learn to watch your mouth, I advice him as we get closer to land.
I can't wait to tell Eret about today..., I whisper to myself.
