Chapter 2: An 'Apple' a day, makes you go away

Takbo kung takbo ang ginawa ko para maabutan ang elevator, muntik na itong magsara buti nalang naiharang ko ang kamay ko. Nagulat naman yung mga tao sa loob, pero hindi ko nalang pinansin dahil sobrang late na talaga ako!

Mahigit isang oras na akong late para sa first day ko. Hindi ko inasahan na ganoon katindi ang traffic, kahit na ang aga ko umalis sa apartment late padin ako. Kanina padin ako kino-contact ni Mr. Jeremias, hay yari talaga ako nito!
Pagkarating ko sa floor ay dumeretso agad ako sa reception. Gusto ko muna sanang mag-CR kaso sobrang late na talaga kaya mamaya nalang.

"Hi miss! I'm here for the orientation." hinihingal kong sabi.

"Ohhh nooo the orientation's already done a couple of minutes ago." Whut?!

"They moved into the conference room with the other employees for a meeting. The conference room's that way."

"Thank you!" dali-dali akong tumakbo papunta sa kwartong itinuro ng babae.
Kumatok ako at pumasok sa loob, nagulat naman ako sa dami ng tao na nasa loob ng conference room, sa estimation ko mga nasa 25 katao lahat. Nasa gitna din ng pagsasalita yung lalaki, and guess who? Natanggap din pala yung poste! Huh!

"...I am a traveler myself and-"

"You're late." Nagulat silang lahat ng putulin ni Mr. Jeremias ang pagsasalita nung lalaki at napatingin silang lahat sakin.

"I'm really sorry Mr. Jere-"

"No need to apologize, please take a sit here." Hindi siya mahilig mag-interrupt ng nagsasalita no?

Umupo ako sa harapan na itinuro niya, at katabi yung poste. Napatingin ako sakanya dahil nakatingin siya sakin, tapos bigla siyang nag-iwas ng tingin. Luh?! Problema ne'to?!

"So... where were we? I think James' not done yet, you can continue now." then sat beside me. He looked at me with a questioning look. Ngumiti lang ako ng may pag-aalinlangan.

"So yeah! I'm looking forward to know all of you, and maybe someday we can travel together!" ngiting-ngiti niyang sabi. Napaka-sigla niya naman pala ano? At inunahan niya ako sa title na Traveler! Grrr lagi niya akong inuunahan.

"Thank you James! Thea? You can go next, just tell us your previous work experience and something interesting about yourself." Saying without standing, and looking at me who's just beside him.

Shocks grabe ang kabog ng dibdib ko! Anong sasabihin ko? Wala namang ka-interes-interes sakin, bukod sa traveler ako, na inagaw na ng katabi kong 'to! Haaaay... bahala na.

"Uhm, Hi everyone? I'm Thea, I used to work as a Coordinator in a Talent Company. Something interesting about myself? Uhm, I don't think there is?" natawa yung babae na katapat ko sa table. Tinignan naman siya ni Mr. Jeremias at tumigil siya.

"Very well, then, let's get to know your workmates. Just a quick name and account introduction. Let's start with you Apple." (Yung babaeng tumawa kanina)

"Yes! Hi! I'm Apple, and I'm part of the Medical Account." Tumingin siya sa katabi niya pagkatapos.

"I'm Lance, part of the Commercial Account."

And so on. Sa beinte-singkong nagsalita, wala akong natandaan bukod kay Apple. Pagtapos magsalita ng lahat, tumayo si Mr. Jeremias sa harap at nagsalita.

"Thank you team. Now that we have our new account launching, which is the Chemical Account, Thea and James will be the Associates to handle it. I'll be their acting Account Lead for the moment, until we identify who will fit to it. But I'll let the Lead of the Medical Account to train you with the basics. Apple, please sit with them for the rest of the week." Ohhh lead pala siya, kaya pala mukang ma-attitude.
