~chapter seven~

Melody

I stand up grabbing my bag of sweets "Sorry we have to cut this short" I say to Bradly then grab Tiago by the arm "I'll see you tomorrow" I lock eyes with Karter.

Tiago hangs up then walks in front of me, I turn looking back at Karter for some reason. His eyes watch me leave giving me butterflies.

"Imma go get the bike, you stay here" he says.

"Your gonna leave me here?" I watch him go into a slow jog.

"I'll run!" he shouts picking his paste up.

"Reckless" I shake my head in disbelief then take hair out my face, at this point he's disappeared into the path we came form. I look back into the shop to see Karter and Bradly talking.

Why didn't I spot them before? How am I only seeing this now?

Karter looks out the window seeing me and I quickly turn shit. Where on earth is this boy? And almost like I called it I hear Tiago's engine getting closer, I start to move in the direction.

I see Tiago's figure getting closer then he stops a few feet in front of me, I jog to him and he hands me his helmet and I put it on "And this" he takes his jacket off handing it to me.

I take it putting it on then hop on the back, I hold on to my bag goodies and onto Tiago as we zoom back.

We walk into the house to meet our rather anger father. "Dad I'm so-"

"No, your grounded" he cuts me off.

"What? You can't ground me I'm 18!" I protest.

"As long as your under my roof my rules go" he snaps and I look up at Tiago.

"I'm not grounded" I storm up the stairs.

"Yes you are!"

"No I'm not" I slam my door shut then slump on my bed zoning out completely.

My phone ringing wakes me up "Hello?" I say half awake.

"We're outside," I hear Kate's hyperactive voice "child? It's festival day." she says likes it's the most obvious thing.

"It is?" I go to the bathroom and start undressing to get into the shower.

"We talked about this yesterday" I can practically hear her rolling her eyes "just wear some shorts it's really hot out"

"Give me ten minutes" I hang up then put some toothpaste on my toothbrush then go to enter the shower but remember my shower cap.

After my quick shower I put on some high waist denim cuffed shorts with an black over sized top over my white lacy bralette, I put white trainers then garb my bag and rush downstairs.

Each year my school has a festival day where there's no lessons just fun activity's outside and inside the school.

I get in the back of Aliya's car and see that they both have pretty oversized tie dye shirts. "Black? In this heat?" Kate says throwing a shirt at me.

"Thanks" I take it off my face and Aliya starts chuckling.

When we park in school everyone's already outside enjoying the hot sun, I take my top off and put the tie dye one on. "Cute bralette" Aliya says.

"Thanks" I smile and we make our way inside.

"I need to put my bag in my locker" Kate says.

"Same" I follower her in, I gotta say it's hotter in here then it is outside, we make our way to each other's lockers then make our way back outside.

"We should get flower crowns" Kate smiles to use, her green eyes glistening as the sun hits her face. I look over at Aliya who's surprisingly okay with it.

"I'm hungry," I complain "I want a pretzel and pink lemonade"

"It won't take long" She claims dragging me with her.

By the time the lunch bell rings I have three temporary tattoos one on my wrist, one on my forearm and one on my ankle. I have glitter on my cheekbones as highlight and a flower crown.

And no I didn't get my pretzel or pink lemonade but I'm not that mad, we're having a good time. Kate comes back with some pizza in her hands and sits down.

"Don't be mad at me but-"

"Oh my gosh Kate" Aliya sighs before Kate can even finish.

"I invited Cal" she finishes and Cal, Liam, Ross and Karter make their way over to us. Great I take a bit out my pizza.

Ross sits one side beside me and Karter on the other side, I feel Karter's shorts rub on me giving me slight tingles down there for some reason.

I give Karter a side glance trying to absorb his beauty in one look, he's wearing a baby pink top that suits him. I look back at my half finished pizza, why on earth he gotta be so damn...him.

Cal starts talking and the guys join in, Karter, Aliya and I are probably the only ones not saying much. Karter stands up and I watch him walk away without saying a word.

He just up and left. I wait a few beats before telling Aliya and Kate that I'm going to get the lemonade I never got. I stand and walk away form the table and feel my braids hit my back slightly.
