CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE :

An Interesting Sunday

Sunday came, and Jin invited them to go to the mall for the whole day. Although the other sons are not so enthusiastic about this, they thought that they needed a break from all the studying. Namjoon and the other older brothers dressed in their best, while the maknaes have their own fashionista, which is their Hoseok hyung. Compared to Namjoon and Yoongi, Hoseok and the maknaes are dressed elegantly, and their father couldn't help but take photos of his sons wearing their Sunday outfit.

An hour passed, and they finally arrived at the busy mall. "I haven't been here for so long." Jin sighed softly, unbuckling his seatbelt to glance at his sons. "Ready to eat your hearts out, boys?" He earned numerous happy responses, leading them to a Korean BBQ restaurant that is also an all-you-can-eat restaurant. Taehyung and Jungkook almost drooled at the smell of meat grilling, as well as the sweet scent of the gyeranjjim and chapchae. All of the boys clapped excitedly— of course, except for the cool and emotionless Yoongi. All of them ate to their heart's content, making the store owner believe that this family will make his restaurant broke from eating so much meat and side dishes. It was his fault for implementing a 3-hour limit of feast, serving unlimited meat and side dishes that will surely fulfill the people's desires.

The first one to tap out was Hoseok, commenting that he doesn't want to break his physical image by having a bloated stomach. However, the others are still bent on eating their fill. The next one was Jungkook, followed by Jimin, Yoongi, Taehyung, and Namjoon. Jin felt like a rabid animal, thankful that Yoongi volunteered to help his father eat by cooking the meat, while Namjoon orders the next few side dishes that their father loves.

The children watched in disbelief; it seemed like Jin was inhaling meat and chapchae, not even bothering to eat rice or drink water. Namjoon ended up being worried that their father will throw up if he doesn't drink water.

There was still an hour left, but there was progress showing that Jin is slowing down. Jungkook giggles when he saw their father drink a glass of water. "Appa...?" Hoseok calls him as he blinks excessively, and Jin looked up to see worried glances. "Oh god please don't throw upon us." The second to the eldest almost rolled his eyes when he saw Jin stiffened. "Of course not!" He exclaims, eating a ball of glazed potato. "Do you guys even know your Appa was a champion in competitive eating contests?"

The children blinked slowly, and Namjoon furrowed his brows in confusion. "Competitive... eating contest?"

Jin snorted, suddenly slamming his chopsticks down and pointing his thumb at his chest. "Your Appa broke the record of eating not one, not two, but twenty bowls of jjajangmyeon!" The children could almost see his pride swell so much, and they couldn't help but smile awkwardly as their father laughs heartily. "The announcers couldn't believe it and held my stomach, as if I was cheating! Pffft. Can you believe it?!"

Jungkook, by far, was the most amazed. He saw in his mind how the younger version of his Appa raised a large trophy when he won the contest. With confetti spraying everywhere, crowds cheering for Jin breaking the record in South Korea for eating the most bowls of jjajangmyeon. It may have made Jungkook turn his direction to becoming a competitive eater instead of a chef or an artist. It's easy to say that the naïve maknae is so easy to influence.

Once their father was finished, they head off to go shopping. The five sons weren't so enthusiastic about this, since they don't really care about their fashion sense. However, Hoseok tagged along with his father, which ended up him having the most purchased clothes out of all of his siblings. From formal to casual, sportswear to sleepwear, even from hats to shoes. Only Jin knows how much he spent— and ended up deciding to write more articles for him to be able to purchase his Nintendo Switch, for the nth time, but he really doesn't mind as long as his sons are happy.
