You Fell Asleep

On most nights you wake up to just the sound of my feet,
But tonight, after we had a fight, you easily fell asleep.
I lied in the bathroom floor for hours hoping you'd come to meet,
But I remained alone for a long, cold night as you couldn't hear me weep.
At every noise I'd thought it was you,
Someone loved, to my rescue,
But you were asleep, while I was feeling blue,
And never having a single clue.
I never understood how you slept so good,
While I laid on the floor hard as wood,
Thinking to myself I really could,
Just open your razor blade,
A pool of blood I could wade,
While dreams in your brain would come to raid,
You of any chance of saving your tired old maid.
I wasn't strong enough to sleep through the night,
I tried and tried with all my might—
I'd rather blown out my brains with dynamite,
But I don't want to prove anyone right.
I am strong enough to win this fight.
