Arthur Morgan: Arthur's Journal

Sadie felt genuinely sympathetic for Arthur but she still rolled her eyes. How could he know how you felt if he never asked you? Admittedly, it had been pretty boring around the camp recently and this gave Sadie something interesting to focus her attention on.

Closing the journal, Sadie put it back where she found it and left Arthur's tent.

Glancing around the camp, Sadie saw you sit down at the campfire with a frustrated sigh. She couldn't help but smile to herself and walk over to you.

"What's wrong?" Sadie asked, grabbing your attention.

"Oh, nothing" you sighed before smiling up at her. "Miss Grimshaw has just been on my back recently, I really need to get out of camp" you chuckled.

"Y'know, if you wanted to get outta camp, I'm sure Arthur would take you into town" Sadie told you as she sat down beside you.

"Arthur? Oh no, he's busy and I wouldn't want to bother him. I can take myself into town" you shook your head but Sadie caught the light blush on your cheeks. Did you return Arthur's feelings? "I'd just like to go on a real job, it's been a while and I'm getting bored cooped up here" you explained.

"That's fair...I'll let you know if I find out about a possible score" Sadie kindly offered.

"Thanks, Sadie" you smiled at her. She returned your smile, nodding at you before standing up and walking away.

It was the next day when Arthur approached Sadie, telling her about a lead that he needed some help with. Giving her the perfect opportunity to interfere.

"I'd love to but I've already got plans for the day" Sadie sighed, acting disappointed. "But, y'know what? You should take Y/n. She told me that she was hoping for a job to come up, she'd go with you" she suggested, as if the idea had just come to her.

"Uh, yeah, I'll ask her" Arthur nodded, scratching the back of his neck.

"You alright, Arthur?" Sadie asked, smirking slightly.

"Yeah, 'course" Arthur dropped his hand back to his side.

"Ah, there she is, go ask her" Sadie nodded in your direction, still smirking.

"...alright" Arthur squinted at her, confused by her strange behaviour, before ignoring the feeling and just turning around, walking over to you.

Sadie didn't even stop herself from hanging around to watch.

"Y/n" Arthur said your name to get your attention, making you turn to him.

"Hey Arthur, you okay?" you asked politely, looking up at him.

"Yeah, thanks. I was just about to head out to look at a lead, need another pair of hands. Are you free?" Arthur asked, not wanting to bother you if you were busy.

"Sure. You're a real lifesaver. I was going crazy being cooped up in the camp" you smiled up at him, chuckling quietly. He couldn't help but smile back at you.

"So, uh, meet me by the horses when you're ready" Arthur nodded at you after a short pause, scratching the back of his neck. You nodded and smiled at him before heading over to your tent to grab what you needed.

Arthur sighed to himself as he wandered over to the horses, he always felt so hopeless around you. You were never anything but kind and polite towards him, you seemed to know exactly how to make him think about you without even trying. He loved that about you but it also frustrated him to no end.

Sometimes he wondered if you had ever thought about him, they way that he thinks about you, but he always shakes the question from his mind. Of course you didn't, you couldn't think of him like that. In fact, he doubted that he ever crossed your mind.
