Arc 3 Chapter 13: Royal Knight

Start from the beginning

Rather, Sylvia was sure Prince Valentine now had a substantial amount of information to put away the First prince once Prince Valentine was "supposedly" crowned King.

Unfortunately the First prince was likely too dumb to realize this and was instead sad that his schemes had never worked out all these years.

As Sylvia sat down, Jun took his position, loyally standing right behind Sylvia's chair to show that he was her knight. Ready to defend his princess if anything were to happen.

As he looked around his dark eyes looked down on the stupid prince, he had never forgotten how he had hurt Sylvia. Quietly he started plotting out what would be the most efficient way to get "rid" of the prince without his princess finding out.

He was about 50% done planning when his thoughts were interrupted by the noble Harold.

"Today commences the crowning of the 9th King of Dandar. Years ago it was decided that Prince Valentine would become future heir, and now with the recent King's passing it may finally come to fruition. The ceremony for the new crowning will now commence."

All the nobles straightened out, today they would pledge their loyalty to the new King, Prince Valentine, or so they had all assumed...

The royal Harold continued. "Before the official crowning, does anyone have any objections?"

"I OBJECT! I DEMAND A MAGIC RETEST!" No one was surprised as the First Prince stood up yelling out.

Although the royal Harold had asked if there were any objections, it wasn't meant to actually be taken seriously. It was meant more so as a mandatory courtesy, much like the objections at weddings.

The noble Harold tiredly spoke "One's magic potential does not change from the time they are six. So unfortunately I cannot oblige to your objection." This was already common knowledge.

"Now we shall continue with the ceremony, if there are any more objections, speak them now or forever hold your peac-"

"I object." Sylvia coldly spoke out still maintaining a relaxed sitting position.

Everyone turned silent with surprise, no one expected the noble Harold to again be interrupted. They had expected the First Prince's objection but not Princess Sylvia's.

Although she was cold and hard to read, everyone had thought she was rather levelheaded, so to object during such a time was quite shocking.

No one knew what to do or what she was thinking.

"Why is she interrupting the ceremony?"

"I guess she's just like her fiance."

"Princess Sylvia and the third prince are meant for each other. Two peas in a pod."

The nobles began to whisper and snicker. Their former opinions of princess Sylvia drastically began to drop.

Suddenly a chilling presence filled the air.

"Huh...!?" The nobles quickly stopped.

A pair of cold piercing eyes immediately scared them into dead silence. Unexpectedly they didn't belong to Princess Sylvia but instead her mysterious knight.

He would never let anyone slander his princess when he was around.

Afterwards he looked down confused. Jun also couldn't understand why his princess had objected during the ceremony.

From her talk with the First Prince years ago he had learned that her nation and Dandar's were at odds. He wondered if she still wanted to become Dandar's Queen...

Jun clenched his fists, he wanted to grant any wish she had, but he couldn't make her Queen of Dandar...

Perhaps...  If he couldn't make her Queen, he simply needed to destroy the other's nation...

Jun's thoughts turned more frightening as the ceremony continued.

"What is the reason for your objection Princess Sylvia?" Again the noble Harold tiredly spoke.

Sylvia calmly stayed sitting. "The ceremony cannot commence, after all, there is still one other candidate who has not yet had his magic tested..." Saying this Sylvia gave a small sly grin.
