universal love

many secrets are often kept by the night,
a blanket of darkness that hides our sins,
and glittering stars, like faraway sprites,
granting wishes similar to shifty djinns.

the mercurial sights we watch up above,
swift-footed comets, a shadowy eclipse,
the universe's own chaotic show of love,
we peer at from our constant ellipse.

and let's not forget the moon that smiles,
one side lucent as it watches with care,
an imaginary conscience, and all the while,
the dusky half encourages risky affairs.
