the magic in my mind

luminous stars are scattered randomly across the pitch-black sky, the only sources of light in the vast emptiness of the world above. glowing in shades of fiery red, frosty blue, and every color known to man, but from this weary terrain they're nothing more than distant dots devoid of any hue.

what i would give to be able to pluck a dozen out of the sky and thread them into a technicolor crown i would wear atop my head, as i gracefully skip through the halls of an exquisite castle made of pastel clouds and nebulae, hidden from those who don't believe in the magic in my mind.

my tired fingers grasp onto the pale silk of my dress as i stare up at the sky from my little window, feverish yearning for the girl i could be when i'm running through the cosmos as my own joyful laughter bounces off of the heavenly bodies that surround me.
