I walked out of the conference room.

I will sue that motherfucker.

Hindi ba ay may kasalanan ka din naman, Thalia? Bakit kasi hindi mo ni-review ng maigi bago ka nag sign? Didn't you instincts tell you that he was planning something?

If I quit, I will breach the contract. I might get sued and even go to prison! Kailangan kong mag research o maghanap ng representation na makakatulong sa akin.

I am pacing back and forth inside my office as I continue to think about the stakes, and my son.

Naisipan kong tawagan si Gaea.

"What?!" Sigaw nito nang sinabi ko ang nangyari, "Vice President?"

I sighed as Gaea released a roar of laughter on the other line. Naningkit ang mga mata ko.

"It's not funny, Gae! I just got scammed!" Frustrated kong sabi.

"Alam ko," she answered, medyo natatawa parin, "Tingin ko lang... ganoon ba talaga ka obsessed si baby daddy para gawin kang Vice President ng isang multi-million na kompanya? Think about it, Thalia,"

"It's petty to assign you to a role that powerful, kahit na para sa paghihiganti, tulad nang lagi mong sinasabi." Aniya, "Just... think about it. I can contact my cousin kung kailangan mo ng legal representation."

I sighed again. Kahit papaano ay may point si Gaea. Kung hindi para maghiganti, ano ba ang rason niya?

"I also think it's time for Lascaux to join you in the Philippines. Babalitaan ko si Tita sa sitwasyon mo. If you will decide to sue, it's going to be messy. Kakailanganin mo ang resources ng Mamita mo." Ani Gaea bago nagpaalam dahil may kailangan pang tapusin.

I continued pacing around the room habang pinag-iisipan ang lahat ng ginawa ni Zachary simula nang umuwi ako sa Pilipinas, ang nangyari sa conference room, at ang payo ni Gaea. I groaned as I tried to take it all in.

Ano kaya ang iisipin ng mga investors? He clearly made a decision that needed more thought! Also, it was not merit-based. I've literally worked here for shy of a month! Siguro ay iisipin ng board na iresponsable ang naging desisyon ng kanilang president.

And what about his little girlfriend, Laia Alverastine? Sana ay iyon nalang ang pinakasalan niya at ginawang Vice Executive! Mukhang credible naman 'yon.

I was still walking around the room when the doors bursted at pumasok si Zachary. His long strides towards me were powerful na tila ba lulusob siya sa digmaan.

I stopped walking and surveyed his face. His dark eyebrows were creased and his gaze dark. Ano kayang nangyari sa loob ng conference room?

Akala ko ay pupunta siya sa akin ngunit natigilan ako nang huminto siya sa may sofa. He removed his coat and rolled both of his sleeves up. He slowly unbuttoned his white dress shirt at sumalampak sa sofa. The fabric of the sofa squeaked as it welcomed his massiveness.

He leaned his head to the cushion's back rest.

I just looked at him from where I was standing as his jaw clenched. Narinig ko ang munting buntong-hininga na lumabas sa kanyang bibig habang nakatingin sa kisame ng office ko. He looked tired... but peaceful.

I sighed internally at naglakad na papunta sa pintuan para umalis. There are a lot of things I have to think about.

"Where are you going?" Mahinahon nitong tanong sa akin.

Nilingon ko siya at nakitang nasa akin na ang mga mata.

"Leaving." Munting sagot ko sa kanya at tatalikod na sana.
