Chapter Eleven - Equilibrium

Start from the beginning

“I didn't go to class" , Marceline replies, playing with the leaves on the floor, avoiding the other's face.  "Actually, I've been here since I left math class."

“Did you just attend one class? Did something happen?"

Defeated, Marceline looked up at her, meeting her green eyes. They were overflowing with concern, care. Her gaze slid for a second to her pink mouth, so inviting... She returned to her eyes, looking for any sign of desire. Didn't found any.

She's straight, you idiot!, She thought.  That was just a stupid game.  Will not happen again.

“Marceline, you look pale. Holy shit, what happened? ”

“Uh... hangover?”

“No, you always make that excuse", says Bonnibel, a little exasperated, but mostly concerned.  “Here, there's an apple in my bag. Eat it."

“I'm not hungry, Bonnie.”

“Eat. The. Apple.”

“Ugh, okay ”, says Marceline. In general, she refuses food. Often. But she has a weakness for red berries, so even with little desire, she accepts the fruit and takes a bite.  “I'm fine, Bonnie.  You don't have to worry. ”

“Did you ate something today?"

“We're not going to talk about that.”

“Marcy, please. Did you ate t-”

“We are not going to talk about that, Bonnibel”, said Marceline, firmly. The other flinched a little, afraid of her gaze.

Marceline's honey eyes were hard, a sharp gleam. But there was something else in the background. A breeze of despair.

“Sorry. Look, Bon... one day I will end up having this conversation with you.  I like you, okay? You're cool. I just don't have the means to talk about it right now. ”

“Okay... Sorry. I don't want to make you uncomfortable.”
A silence reigned for a few minutes.  It was Marceline who broke it.

“I think it's time for the next class.  Come on, we have English now.”

“OK, let's go", replied Bonnibel, accepting the hand Marceline held out to hee.  He got up, and felt a heaviness in her stomach when Marceline's hand dropped hers.

She wanted to ask about that kiss. Wanted to ask Marcy how she knew she was a lesbian.  Wanted to know if Marceline had felt that too. She desperately needed to know what it was all about and felt that Marceline had the answers.

For now, decided to let it all to another moment.

With three more days, the big day had arrived.  In the school parking lot, Marceline's band met with Bonnibel's group.  And they couldn't stop laughing.

“I can't believe he looks better than me in my dress! ”, said Priscilla, her belly aching with laughter.

Jake paraded in front of his friends, Priscilla's lilac dress covering the defined muscles of her body, with a curly hair wig and lipstick to complete.

“Thanks for the look, Priscilla! ”

“No problem, Jake. Black people stay together! ”

Finn was still laughing at his foster brother. He was wearing a blue skirt, a tank top of the same color. His ubiquitous white cap was being replaced by a white beanie with bunny ears.

Beside them were Guy and Bongo.  The first wore a red miniskirt with a shiny black tank top, and the other the same look, with the colors reversed. Marshall wore one of his sister's plaid skirts with a tank top, and red lipstick.
