Rey laid in her bed in the old AT-AT walker, as always she had a hard time falling asleep. She felt so lonely, and she couldn't stop thinking about the day her parents left her alone in this desert junkyard. Tears stung her eyes, she couldn't help but feel unwanted and unloved.

She started to think of the one thing that had always brought her peace... the ocean she always imagined. She could imagine so vividly that she could see the sun glistening on the water, she could hear the waves crashing, smell the salty breeze, she could almost feel the cool mist on her hot dry skin.

She sighed contently, imagining herself standing on the edge of a cliff looking out at the water. She closed her eyes listening to the water crash against the stones beneath her, allowing the sound to lull her to sleep.

She felt sleep take her, then something strange happened...

...she felt herself falling off of the edge of the cliff, she opened her eyes to see the waves drawing closer and closer to her, until at last she crashed into them. She felt the cold water envelop her, and she felt the air forced out of her lungs...then there was nothing, nothing but darkness.

She felt strong arms wrapped around her waist, and soft lips pressed against her own. She opened her eyes and attempted to pull away to see who was kissing her.

"Don't struggle..." she heard his thoughts in her mind and she felt him rub her back comfortingly. "...let me breath for you."

It was then that she realized that she was still under the water. Is he doing this to save me? she thought.

"Yes, I'm going to save you..." he answered her thoughts.

Rey reached her hand behind his head, tangling her fingers in thick black hair, pulling him closer so that she could breath the air from his mouth a little easier. She couldn't help but wonder how he could breath under water... how could he inhale water and exhale air?

He carried her to a cave on the side of the cliff and laid her on the sandy bank. She looked up finally able to see the face of the man who had saved her.

He had shoulder-length black hair, deep lonely dark eyes, pale skin and soft dark lips. In the place of legs, he had a long fin that was covered with shiny dark blue scales.

She gasped, he was so familiar...she was sure she had seen him before. She reached up to brush the dripping locks from his eyes. "Thank you, for saving me," she whispered.

"I couldn't let you die," he answered softly, reaching down to gently press his palm against her cheek.

She closed her eyes and leaned against his hand, and he brushed his thumb across her cheekbone.

Rey opened her eyes and gasped it was a dream...just a dream. One she'd had many times, she'd seen him so many times in her dreams, sometimes she dreamt of him saving her from drowning as she had last night, other times she had dreamt of swimming with him or sitting with him on the shore.

She whoever he was... she sure he was just her imagination, just like the ocean. She wasn't sure what kind of creature he was, she wasn't even sure if that type of creature even existed. She wished that he was real, he understood her like no one else, but she was sure that he was nothing but a dream
