3RD PERSONS VIEW

throughout the whole program, jaeyoung couldn't keep still. her eyes would wander off from time to time and it would most likely land on the big screen.

sometimes she would catch a glimpse of the cam landing on the royal family and she couldn't help but look away.

soon the first tournament has sadly come to an end as jeongin and miyeon started saying the ending remarks. afterwards, jeongin made his way to the balcony to let the royal family also say their final words to end the program.

miyeon glanced at her friend, "yo, do you want another lollipop?" she questioned, pulling the candy out of her pocket, grinning as she held it out for jaeyoung to take.

jaeyoung scrunched her nose, snatching the piece of candy, "t-thanks..."

miyeon hummed, "you've been tensed for the past hour now–"

"i'm gonna go outside." jaeyoung cuts her off shortly and left the control booth area immediately.

miyeon chuckled as she watched jaeyoung leave the room before saying her last line of the script and it was finally a wrap up.

jaeyoung stood outside the booth, her hand clutched onto the piece of candy miyeon gave her. "lady jaeyoung!" she heard a faint call and she craned her head towards the direction of the voice.

"joshua-ssi," she blurted out, her eyes going a bit wide.

"come over here–" without a second jaeyoung was pulled towards the side of the balcony.

"what are we doing here?" jaeyoung whisper shouted as she heard voices coming out of the balcony.

"joshua-hyung!" chenle now stood beside jaeyoung and it made the girl more nervous than she already was. if only she didn't find out they were practically princes of the district, she probably wouldn't be acting all awkward.

she couldn't help but feel embarrassed for herself, she even talked to mark how she didn't really care about the royal family.

chenle looked at jaeyoung and gave her a soft smile, waving at her cutely as he said, "hello, it's nice to see you here again."

all of the nerve got washed away as she lifted her head up to face chenle. the corner of her lips curved up into a pretty smile that chenle had been longing to see again and her eyes brightened.

"chenle, right?"

chenle nodded, "yes! that's right, my name is chenle."

"i'll give you two some time alone." joshua said cheekily before walking away. chenle now looked scared, "i-i uh... i'm not really, um... sure how to– well... converse with a girl." he stammered.

jaeyoung noticed how nervous chenle looked and that surprised her. aren't i supposed to be the nervous one? i'm talking to a goddamn prince.

"h-hey... you don't have to be nervous... um, i believe i should be the nervous one here– you're a freaking prince."

chenle was taken aback by this and laughed, all of the nerve that was kicking in was going away. "and so? i've never talked to a girl in years! you're the only girl i have spoken to after the incident..." he told her truthfully. "you seem like a nice person, jaeyoung."

"i bet you didn't even know i was a prince." chenle mumbled.

jaeyoung chuckled, her head shaking as if saying, "nope. i didn't have a clue. i thought you were just... rich."
